I don’t say I want a job that makes X, I say I want to make X income. There is a difference.

I dislike trying to describe a system that I despise to someone who doesn’t know anything about it because 1) it feels like I’m justifying it by explaining & 2) I’m struck by their privilege at having no idea that others are struggling. It’s confronting and exhausting.
