Here are some messages GROVE gathered from Autistic adults to Autistic young people - please do share them with anyone who may benefit from hearing that they can be proud of who they are. Happy Autistic Pride Day!

At the top, the SEMA logo appears in gold and black, followed by the bold text: "AUTISTIC PRIDE DAY – 18th June." In the centre is a vibrant rainbow infinity symbol. Autistic Pride Day 2025 🌟
We don’t need fixing.
We need listening.
We need space.
We need respect.
We need to live as we are.
This #AutisticPrideDay, we honour every racialised Autistic person who’s been silenced, underestimated, or pathologised.
Image of Scott and Jess in a Teams call before the BEING ME group started. Both wearing orange T-shirts with their GROVE background displayed on their screens. The caption says “Scott and I accidentally twinning our t-shirts”.
Wonderful first session of the BEING ME groups with GROVE on Saturday. We hope that this has helped the young people to begin exploring their own subjective Autistic experience! 😊
Also myself and Jess unexpectedly matched with our T-shirt colours for the session!

Call for Reviews For Creating Safe Spaces for Autistic People Scott Neilson & Laura Hellfeld Image of a megaphone signalling the call for reviews, featuring the cover of the safe spaces book. Purple and beige colours are displayed on the graphic.
We’re thrilled about the boost that ‘Creating Safe Spaces’ has had recently. This has been our highest month of sales since September! For anyone who hasn’t done so yet, leaving a review would greatly help the book’s reach. We so appreciate everyone who has gotten a copy and read the book. :)
I’m looking forward to delivering another cohort of Cothú beginning on the 8th July. More information in the video for anyone who is interested in offering this course to families. :)

Does it focus on any goals or motivations that the person has? Does the approach/therapy focus more on compliance rather than changing the environment?’
Earlier this week I delivered an online session on Autistic experiences of trauma to the parents/carers at the Dixon Community. We discussed the importance of any support or approach being led by the Autistic person and for it to focus on changing the environment rather than promoting compliance.
