I almost want to say manhattan is the better film artistically and I like Annie hall better.

All prepped for dinner. We have this a couple of times a week and we call it protein bowls. It’s basically a green salad with protein and a grain. Tonight it’s quinoa, black beans, garbanzos and rosemary seasoned chicken breast. But you can use wild rice, salmon, tofu, whatever.

The pineapple scene is brilliant. Such a luxury but it doesn’t live up to the hopes. Dad discards it. Mom and grandma eat out of duty not to waste. Taeko wants to like it.  So much is said without a word.
