It tastes quite bold without the floral notes I would expect from honey orchid.

I’m not sure if I overbrewed it or it’s the expected taste. Then again, it is roasted…

First brew for 10 seconds gives a nice golden brown color. It tastes toasty as well.

Here’s my first tea session of the year.

I was planning to gift some tea to my cousin and ended up buying extra for myself.

(I was lured by the “house specialty” in the item description.)

It’s nice, smooth, and toasty, though I can’t tell the difference with the 2021 version.

It certainly quite has the heady scent to it. Taste-wise, it doesn’t stand out too much from other Zhi Lan Xiang I tried, though I can sense a bit of mineral notes I get from rock tea.

Black one has quite the strong aroma though the flavor feels a bit typical for me. White one is sweeter and has a more caramel notes in comparison.

White is Musang King durian. Black is Black Thorn durian.

I liked this tea so much that I ordered another batch from the store, though 125g was the smallest amount for it there.

Second brew still has that vegetal taste with slightly smoky notes. I can sense a bit of floral but I can’t tell which flower. I’ve read it’s supposed to be like winter daphne but I have no idea what’s that like.

Dried leaves smell toasty, rather typical of oolong.

From what I read, it’s named after the shape of the fresh tea leaves.

Yes, I did buy this tea just because of the name.
