A Day of Workshops and Fantastic Performances » Senator Bernie Sanders This past Saturday, more than 150 Vermont students, from fourth grade to college and from around the state, joined me at Vermont State University Castleton for a day of workshops and rehearsals, followed by a student discussion on the importance of the arts and a choral concert. All the performances were fantastic, showcasing some truly talented young people. Once again, this event reminded me how impressive the young people in our state are. It also reminded me how committed teachers, parents, caregivers and community members are to ensuring young people have opportunities to participate in the arts.

Thank you, Senator Sanders, for shining a light on the arts and for bringing Vermont together through them at our Castleton campus. @sanders.senate.gov

Opportunities like these are often formative experiences for students and wouldn’t be possible without the support TRIO provides. #TRIOWorks

Carina Alden on LinkedIn As I watch the astronauts approach the moon, I’m taking a moment to reflect (😉) on all of the incredible opportunities I’ve been fortunate enough to have as part of the Moon to Mars Space Weather Analysis Office (M2M SWAO). When I joined the team back in Nov. 2020, I never knew if I would make it through the six months of training. Now, in 2026, I can look back and say “not only did you make it, you flourished!” Over the last 5 years and counting, I’ve supported Artemis I with nearly a month of overnight shifts analyzing and monitoring space weather. I’ve been to numerous conferences across the world and presented at these conferences including AMS, AGU, ESWW, SWW, and SHINE. I’ve provided space weather tutorials to students in Argentina and helped organize trainings within the team and externally. As well as proposed and co-hosted sessions at ESWW. And to top it all off, while I’m currently supporting Artemis II, I’m also back in school part-time while I work towards my Masters degree in Applied Space Weather Research at CUA! I couldn’t be more grateful for these opportunities to learn, grow, and make my own mark on this incredible community. #heliophysics #spaceweather #artemisii #m2mswao | 10 comments on LinkedIn
