Next up in #spectravideo project. SV-601 expander and the floppy disk controller SV-801. It powers up, but I haven’t tried it yet with either 328 computers.

Pretty happy with the result. I was little worried about removing the keys since I don’t have a proper keypuller. But these were not stuck so screwdriver did the trick. #spectravideo SVI-328.

#spectravideo SV-328 MKI motherboard looks pretty clean actually. Just some dust. No need to do anything here.

One of the main differencies between #spectravideo SV-328 MKI and SVI-328 MKII is the video output. Naming was also changed from SV to SVI. The motherboard had some redesign. Let’s see about those next.

So why this SVI-project? My first computer was #spectravideo 728 msx. Got it for Christmas ’84. Exactly 40 years ago! Today I have quite a large spectravideo collection (still missing 318, anyone?!). When I got these 328’s, I instantly wanted to revisit this SVI era. Just for fun. :)

Both 328 computers are workimg though. Here is the MKII.

#spectravideo made two 328 models. MKI (upper) and MKII (down). These were the predecessors of the MSX standard. Luckily I have both. But man, these need some cleaning. Also keys are little bit sticky, so need to work on those too. project SVI continues. :)

Hello bluesky. Rescued these from the trashpile. Needs some cleaning, maybe a bit fixing. At least things are powering up. :) I like to code with real hardware, maybe some demoscene stuff on the horizon… #spectravideo #retroComputers #retrogaming
