🚁 Our headquarters are buzzing this week as we host the WG‑132/G‑38 Automated Aircraft Inspections plenary meeting!
✈️ The group is making strong progress on its first deliverable: a set of recommendations on the use of automated aircraft inspections, expected to be published by the end of 2026.

📢 New Working Group: WG-135 “Certification Readiness Level”.
🔍 This WG will develop a recognised international #standard that evaluates certification maturity across technologies, organisations, people, and processes.
🧩 WG-127 ‘Lower-risk Aviation Applications’ also met at EUROCAE, advancing the final draft of “Software Development Assurance for Lower-risk Aviation Applications” ahead of Open Consultation, with the aim of reaching consensus at the next plenary in June.
📡 WG-126 ‘VCS-ATC Systems Integration for Information Exchange’ met at EUROCAE headquarters in Paris. Progress was made on a new communication standard to enhance #VCS interoperability and enable seamless flight information exchange, alongside ongoing work on key deliverables (OSED and INTEROP).
🖥️ WG-122 ‘Virtual Centres’ met in Fiumicino, hosted by #ENAV. The group continued developing both the Guidance Document and the Interoperability Standard for Virtual Centres. Members also had the opportunity to visit the FCO Control Tower.
🚁 WG-112 ‘Vertical Take-Off and Landing #VTOL’ convened at EASA’s premises in Cologne. Discussions focused on upcoming activities, including lightning avoidance, propeller integration within lift/thrust units, and hybrid VTOL energy display.
Another productive couple of weeks for #EUROCAE Working Groups, with teams across the globe advancing key #standards:
🌦️ WG-76 / SC-206 ‘AIS/MET #Datalink Services’ met at the UK Met Office, hosted by our member EUMETNET. Strong progress was made on the standards currently under development.
📍 This week, we are in Düsseldorf attending the #StandardsForum at XPONENTIAL EUROPE, a key platform dedicated to advancing #standards for Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles, with a strong focus on #drones and international collaboration.
🎤 Our TPM, Bertrand Riveill, contributed to two insightful panels.

WG-63 ‘Complex #Aircraft Systems’ held its 100th Plenary Meeting in Cologne. A remarkable milestone!
🛠️ Established in 2002 and working in close collaboration with SAE International S-18, WG-63 plays a key role in providing industry guidelines on the #safety of aircraft systems and equipment.

⚡ WG-31 ‘Electromagnetic Hazards’ met for one week at EASA in Cologne. Members advanced several document projects, including the finalisation of ED-107B and ED-338 for publication, and the launch of the Open Consultation for ED-248A.
📡 WG-41 ‘A-SMGCS’ met in Budapest, kindly hosted by AustroControl. During the meeting, the group continued the Comment Resolution process for ED-349 ‘Interoperability Standard on Data Exchange for A-SMGCS’, which is expected to be published later this year.
🔐 WG-72 / RTCA SC-216 ‘Aeronautical Systems #Security’ held its Plenary Meeting at FreeFlight Systems in Dallas. The group made solid progress on all deliverables currently under development, with strong coordination across its subgroups.
🤖 WG-114 / SAE G34 ‘Artificial Intelligence’ convened at Collins Aerospace’s premises in Toulouse. The group is actively working on the ED-324 Comment Resolution following the Open Consultation, with the aim of completing it at the next plenary meeting, moving towards publication as planned in Q4.
🛩️ WG 118 ‘Crash-Protected and Lightweight Flight Recorders’ met at EUROCAE headquarters in Paris. The group is currently developing the MASPS for Virtual Flight Recorder Data Recording Services (#VFDR) and is also addressing comments to finalise the MASPS for #AAM aircraft recording systems.
