I just don't like that character arc they're shoving in Claude's face where his only choices are "ruthless schemer" and "benevolent king". At least they're trying (trying) to make him a good diplomat to find some middle ground... Grmpf.

Also I think leaving the kingdom to go back to ordelia is very ooc for Claude. Ok, everyone is praising him, all the NPCs are like the king didn't abandon us, what a great guy... but they could have taken the time to send an envoy, leave Judith and some guys behind idk. There were options!!!!

Also, WHERE ARE THE MOTHERS IN THESE GAMES???!!!

Where is the lore on Margrave Edmund?? In Houses he's this elusive, ominous, looming figure over poor Marianne, and in Hopes he's... Trying to be a dad in his own fucked up elusive-absentee way??? I mean Marianne clearly is happy about it but now I want to know more

Sorry, this was one of my favourite part about Claude's character in Hopes and I hate how the game tries to have its cake and eat it by SHOWING it was the right decision but having everyone including Claude say it wasn't -_-

Linhardt also says that people think too much about the means and not enough about the ends (and hates war).

I think it's interesting that two of the most killing adverse characters in the whole game are among the least upset by Claude's decision.

Meanwhile Claude's friend are like boohoo you were a meanie. I was surprised to see that Marianne (in camp) actually not-disagrees with Claude's decision -- simplifying a bit but basically she understands his thought process and hates war.

The Eastern Church - who is the eastern bishop??? Everyone talks about them, they're friend with Judith and they're an upstanding person but WHO IS IT - has managed to keep things tight without resorting to force, and all the federation territories fell back into rank and renewed their support

Especially since this show of force (no survivors, thunder Catherine out of the picture) actually prevented Burgundy, Siward and Albany (low-key equivalent of Faerghus' western lords) from defecting to the Kingdom!!! In camp all people talk about is how EVERYTHING HAS SETTLED IN THE FEDERATION SINCE

After Ailell and the drama about Randolph, Petra tells Shez that she doesn't get why people don't celebrate Claude for his excellent hunting tactics. She gets it. 8)
