he has a job to do, and it's looking glam for the lads

This has sent me round the twist, my employer in my payslip asking me to donate my wages to… my employer so they can… treat me better? Wild. Just another NHS moment.
Trying to keep an open mind about this, can someone explain to me why the GMC insists on investigating and prosecuting via the MPTS criminal allegations that the police investigate and take no further action with? Why is this a role they've given themselves?

Recently returned from Japan. Key take home message is that it’s very pleasant to live in a society where people trust and respect each other, knowing that there comes a great deal of shame from breaking the rules. Everything’s clean and kempt, everyone is polite and considerate. Loved it.
causing problems wherever I go
Look guys I just don’t like peas.
Hospital canteen: it’s £2 cheaper if you get that with peas, then it’s the meal deal.
Me: I don’t need the peas, can we pretend I have the peas so I’m not just wasting the food
Canteen: no. You need the peas or I’ll charge you more.
Just saw Retrograde in the west end which was EXCELLENT and absolutely worth 90 minutes of your time. Don’t read the synopsis, just accept your fate and get a ticket.
(Other things that are EXCELLENT still playing are Giant, Kyoto, Titanique, Benjamin Button)
I continuously make references to something being “based on the novel Push by Sapphire” which wasn’t funny a decade ago when people might have got that reference but still I must continue to keep the fire alive
This is a cool church
BBC News homepage showing the story in question highlighted in a prominent position.
Not to sound like an old man but why is the front page for UK users of BBC News prominently featuring a story about Saturday Night Live, a show that literally cannot be watched in this country? You can't stream it, it's not on TV. Who cares that it's had an anniversary show?
I feel like the number of people that tell me they had an issue after a previous anaesthetic of taking “too long to wake up” outweighs the number of times I’ve seen this problem 1000 to 1, who is telling everyone this??
... in order to list your property for sale you have to put together a standardised pack which includes an independent level 2 survey, standardised searches and the fixtures/fitting form. Every normal person understands this. Unrelated but they also need to get rid of stamp duty on the primary home.
The English have some sort of pathological mental block to sorting out the property system. This stuff is not the answer. The answer is...

It’s a bit cryptic but is the implication here a phone call was made to ICU but the patient not seen? Another example of treating any “making you aware” call as a need for full in person assessment?
heat on Charlotte
- Charlotte will not be able to shake that, and will get eliminated in endgame
- Alexander will also get eliminated in endgame for never being 100% with people
- Jake, Leanne, Frankie win.
My traitors prediction, ignoring the Seer because it’s too much of a wildcard to build in (and arguably isn’t necessary as a mechanic at this late and exciting stage):
- Leanne will call out Freddie and Alexander as traitors in the morning
- Freddie will be banished, but will have started throwing
One wireless keyboard had within it a little Bluetooth receiver that she could plug into the USB port and it worked. There isn’t any other way as far as a quick search revealed, restarting doesn’t turn it back on.
Just fielded an urgent call at work - my mum switched bluetooth off on her iMac, and all the mice and keyboards in the house are bluetooth. It's actually a bit of an oversight, every Mac peripheral is bluetooth now, why does it not warn you before rendering you unable to control the computer?
Not the greatest year for British theatre but not terrible, I think my hit rate was quite high. Would have liked to have seen The Years, but will catch that on the transfer this year. Looking forward to 2025.
These were the disappointments. Especially Romeo and Juliet. School For Scandal is the only thing I walked out of at the interval. The Tempest wasn't completely terrible but Sigourney Weaver was, and that was most of the point of the production. Avoid!
These were my highlights. Not necessarily in a specific order just generally stuck up near the top. Many of these are still running, touring, or getting a west end transfer imminently and you should see them and tell me what you think.
Long list of theatre productions seen.
My theatre wrapped for 2024. 44 shows seen, some at the fringe, overall 15 things outside of London. My strategy this year is to see fewer things but try and make every one of them a winner. The median ticket price this year was £35, it's still not as expensive as it seems to see good theatre.
My bathroom installer singing a song about being unashamedly queer and doing lines in a bar in West Hollywood… that was the real brat summer.
My song of 2024 was Pink Pony Club and there really could be no other
There’s a war going on out there somewhere
And Andrei isn’t here
I hadn’t ever thought about where the bathrooms are on the enterprise, but there it is right there off the bridge. Super convenient!
I don't understand why anyones still there, just leave!
Merry Christmas only to the guy that plays the elf at Disneyworld who calls everyone out for being NOWTY. One of those videos dropping every day is all that’s been getting me through this wet month. youtube.com/shorts/f4xGW...
Just finished a rewatch of all of Breaking Bad, it completely holds up and justifies its place as one of the greatest TV dramas of all time. This time round Walter is much more clearly the bad guy from even just a few episodes in, and Jesse came across as a much more tragic figure. A great show.
