I think the Riemann Zeta function collapses infinities of all p-adics into the complex plane.

I also think that the zeta zeroes are related to primes because only primes lead to the most “complete” infinities.

No idea if any of this has merit, but it’s fun to think on.

Ask yourself…

Do I get all my opinions from sources that are already aligned to what I already believe? How often do I seriously consider whether my side is wrong? Why do I believe what I believe? And why do I believe those things?

You should be able to reconstruct why you believe what you believe from the ground up and keep the same opinion.

But you might not find this an effective activity if you’re stuck in a biased bubble of information.

Because it takes less mental energy to maintain an existing worldview than it does to tear down and rebuild better.

Perhaps secularism is more alluded to in how certain characters who have certain non-religious preoccupations avoid infection/influence from either the radiance or the haunting from grandmother silk.

Oh, I like your nihilism take

Either way, though, the radiance and other higher beings do seem to have a lot of religious overtones to them. Mentions of worship. Ways of life. Taking over the mind. Spreading through seeds. Even an example in the first game of the NPC moss prophet preaching.

For any #hollowknight and #silksong fans…

I think the void is an allegory for a lack of theism, and the various other major higher beings are allegories for different religions.

Thoughts?

All elementary functions from a single binary operator A single two-input gate suffices for all of Boolean logic in digital hardware. No comparable primitive has been known for continuous mathematics: computing elementary functions such as sin, cos, sqrt,...

One [binary operator] to rule them all,
One [binary operator] to find them,
One [binary operator] to bring them all,
And in the darkness bind them

Pretty cool #computerscience advancement, actually. Not in any way suggesting it’s evil

Long-term gas prices will keeping going up, since it’s a finite resource.

The focus should be on decoupling affordability in general from gas prices.

Solving this problem via subsidizing the industry is not a sustainable solution.

BODMAS / PEDMAS / BEDMAS

However you call it

I realized that these rules are really just there to make mathematical notation concise.

I’m so sorry, that’s really fresh.

I can’t imagine how difficult that must be, but your poem gives me an inkling.

I imagine it’s how I’d feel if I ever lost my wife. Probably why it hit me so hard.

How long has it been?

I think the general toxicity of the wider community on Twitter drove the people who wanted a break from this to seek out accounts that shared the ethics you’re promoting.

Oh, another comment on this.

This has been my general approach. And back on Twitter it seemed to attract a lot of followers, which I wouldn’t have expected, less so on here (but this could be multifaceted).

Social Media Etiquette

Disagree with kindness.
Listen to understand, not just to respond.

These practices cultivate compassion and wisdom.

Words have the power to build bridges or erect walls. Choose connection over division. 💛

So, knowing this, the bigger driver to care at all about tidiness is more to reduce the cognitive load for guests who aren’t used to my specific mess.

That, and, it’s easier to find missing items when they’re not buried in a haystack.

Another point I wanted to make is that, for me at least, successful cleaning does leave me with something noticeable—a lessened cognitive load via fewer things grabbing my attention as I look around the room.

Interestingly, the same effect can be achieved by desensitization through inaction.

For my own sanity, I tend to focus more on what tangible items I got completed rather than what the current cleanliness state of the house is.

Like a hair dresser adding up the volume of hair they lopped off that day vs focusing on whether the uncut hair is the perfect length.

I sold mine because of this scandal.

But it was a good car, and not everyone thinks deeply about what they’re supporting with their purchases.

Not saying this fact is good or bad, just that it’s a reality.

The amount of *money* spent buying things for people does not show love… at least not really.

It’s the amount of *time* spent doing things for people that does.

The image in the thumbnail of the article isn’t aligned with the proposal in the article.

It describes a ring around the equator on the surface of the moon.

Not sure it makes sense, but I’m no expert.

Accidentally grabbed the wrong colour for some paint touchups

And even the wall is unimpressed
