Testing this morning, windows open. Hitting repeaters with or without my repeater in repeat mode. My repeater isn’t the one heard when trace is done, repeat on. No immediate neighbors on the repeater when companion inside sees multiple. This node is definitely flawed. Sigh.

Have you had any issues with the seed studio repeater? Curious since I got one this weekend and it just doesn’t work.

Well, it’s going back. The whole reason I bought this one was because it was supposedly a good one, and it is supposed to be pretty much plug and play. I didn’t WANT to build out the box and solar. It was supposed to be the easy way. My Heltec V3 works better. #SeedStudio

That happens usually because of traffic and processing. It’s weird, and not completely stable yet. You can usually check the mesh analyzer too, and that helps you see what you might be missing, on both transmit and receive.

Did you end up solving your issue?

Right now, I don’t even know what to think. Started with a Heltec v3, got a flag pole, new 5dbi antenna and it was working great. Even pulled down some height - still great, but needed solar. Went with Sense Cap P1 Pro Solar for an all in one solution.

I did see that! Mine doesn’t go above the peak - 2 story can be a pain - it maybe gets to the roof line. Waiting on the adapter to arrive so I can put the new antenna back up with the new radio this time. Hopefully if all goes well, I will be back up and running by sometime tomorrow. Yay!

It’s absolutely incredible that one of the largest Japanese-run Go servers, which has been running since 1992, is still accessed entirely via Telnet. And while most players use GUI clients that use Telnet under the hood, you can still connect manually and get ASCII graphics streamed to you

Better watch out. My inconsistent Kraken may just take a seat at that table next year. Sadly we choked for - reasons - after the Olympic break. We were on such a hot streak. Sigh. Next season. Same head coach, new management and a great up and coming talent pool.

Those look great! They were installing those a lot in Orlando. I really wanted them for my house but never made it happen. Maybe when we eventually buy something here, I will make it happen. I miss my light switches and other things I added automations to. Boo!

Put the new #MeshCore radio up last night. It’s currently catching the rays while I am over here waiting on the adapter to show up to put the bigger antenna on it. Unfortunately the antenna replacement is a MUST. Can’t seem to reach other near by repeaters without it, regardless of height.

Got a new solar node, and I thought everything I needed to put it up with my current antenna. Now I wait for the correct adapter to put it up. Tomorrow isn’t terrible, but that means I really can’t play with my setup today, other than watching the solar charge. It’s a bummer. #MeshCore.

Is it weird that I glanced at that picture and thought I saw Lego, and wondered why it was just one piece? Like what does this Lego represent? Then - oh. That’s an Ethernet cable adapter. Sigh. Lego would have been more fun! πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

I have been using similar tools inside the MeshCore app. There is a line of sight and a coverage map, both modify with antenna height. Chose a zoomed out version, but you get the idea.

I was reading about that. Yeah, it’s another reason why I have been holding off on solar. Never mind that it’s winter and the pole placement alone won’t get much sun. I may put my tempest on top to gauge how it works with the low horizon still in play.

With that being said, I got up at 4am or so and started hitting the bots and had a nice long chat. It seems I am actually back in business, and didn’t realize it because congestion made it seem otherwise. Left it up over night for early AM tests while everyone else sleeps.

I pulled that out of the mix all together. The antenna I put up yesterday is a direct connect to the board. Now I need a new box that will fit the rig, and some solar so I can cut the cord. I didn’t want to spend on solar before getting the rest working.
