Well, it finally bit the dust. Was going to set it aside in the garage and then repot, but decided to just get another one upcoming.

Here we are, 8.03.24, and one still going…

Okay. The amaryllis is still going but not making progress in the same way. Thinking it’s running out of nutrients maybe?

The Amaryllis just keeps growing!
I want to make the attempt to pot it in a built-in drain planter with potting mix once it stops producing and begins to dry out, but I had no idea it would keep going this long😊.

That Amaryllis is still going after the initial bloom Christmas Day. Have pruned blooms three different times and there are two new sprouts.

Beautiful! Where I am there are wind and flood warnings throughout the day!

Here it is today:

Second bloom of the “Christmas Amaryllis”;Going to attempt to regrow/pot this. Will trim off old blooms then, get rid of the wax holding bulbs and get rid of wire. Potting mix used will be easily drainable in container I’m planning to use. This may or may not work but did the research. We’ll see.

Thanks for this, it helped me learn the similarity between it and sandpipers. I live in an inlet on the SC Coast and see these type frequently.
