Appleは、次々と機械学習分野で重要な研究論文を発表しており、実装結果も共有している。去年から、いくつかは過剰反応とも言える論争を起こすライバル会社がいて、痛いところを的確に突いたものがあることがわかる。Appleは、今のLLMや画像生成AIの弱点をよく理解しており、新しい取り組みを行っているのだ。

Claude Codeがそんな風によくなってるなら、放置されてる古いPHP5のコードを最新のPHP8.xに移植させてみようと思う。上手く仕組み化出来たら良いな。
知人から #ClaudeCode で開発中のアプリの話を聞いた後、Appleの開発者も活用している話を見掛ける。こりゃ、フェーズが確実に変わったな。不便だったAIでの開発支援ツールが格段に使いやすくなってるとのこと。

Looking Glass, Liquid Glassと似ているし、CloudもAgentも、General Magicが出元なのだ。
一般メディアじゃ、ダブルクリックとプルダウンメニューを発明した人となってるのか…もっと凄いこと、早過ぎたことも含めて、いくつもやってるのに。

ビル・アトキンソンが亡くなった。伝説的プログラマー、Mac OSの祖の1人。当時Xeroxがハードウェアで実装した描画システムの同等以上の仕様を、ソフトウェア(Mac OSの仕様を決定付けた)QuickDrawとして実装してしまう偉業を達成し、HyperCard開発し、後年Appleから分社して起業したGeneral Magicではスマホやクラウドの源流の一つ、Magic CapというOSも開発した。
引退後は、写真家として活動しつつ、WWDCには毎年のように参加されていたので、そこで会った方も多い。

Appleの自社Webレンダリングエンジンは、Steve Jobs復帰頃にあったOpenDocベースのCyberdogでも使われていた。Cyberdog向けのNetscape WebレンダリングエンジンOpenDocコンポーネントも開発されていたなぁ。
私はWebブラウザは他のものに変えたが、Mac OS 9.2.2でCyberdogを2002年くらいまではメールクライアントとして利用していた。
