Agreed - never seen it so busy, even after lunch - but hopefully good news for sales of the rules.

Looking forward to your videos of the Little Wars TV tour of France - and clearly also the publication of your CoC WW1 rules!
Great summary of the day Alex. Thanks for taking time out from filming to stop and chat about your work on the excavations in Thiepval Wood. It’s a special place made even better by the archaeology that’s been done.
I only have these Des. Didn’t manage to get a chat as you were always busy talking when I passed by the game. I did get a peek at the new supplement and have preordered it. I’m definitely going for 1:1800 rather than 1:3000 scale after seeing your models - lovely stuff.
That looks superb Gareth.
Great stuff Tom - love those Perry Prussian figures. I played a Ligny and a Waterloo scenario in June with my Prussians and managed to lose both.
Good to see you back on track with the West Germans Tom.
I sent my better troops against his right and hoped to destroy some of his artillery on the left with counter battery fire. I ended up losing 3 guns to his 1 in the artillery duel, and the 54th Mass. 24 Mi & 90th Illinois were decimated trying to take the high ground. A bad day for the Union.
We played the 2nd 1863 battle in our Longstreet campaign today, with another Gettysburg-style scenario rolled for - the Hilltop - 2 objectives on 2 hills (Round Tops?), except my Union would be attacking. The captured Union signal tower was 1 of the 2 objectives.
Thanks.
Thanks. The British & Soviets are long done, but these have been in the queue for 4 years or so. That’s me finished with any more forces - mind you those Danish Centurions look nice…. Really liking your Modern stuff in 28mm.
The West German WW3 build continues with the arrival of decals allowing me to finish off some vehicles. Along with the infantry I finished previously, this gives enough of a force to play a game of NorthAG or 7 Days #ColdWargaming #ColdWarGoneHot
Having already taken 25% casualties, the Union thought better of assaulting and withdrew - I would never have taken this decision in a one-off game, but the campaign situation meant I had to think of the next game. A big thumbs up for Longstreet once again.
Skilfully executed Confederate spoiling attacks meant that the Rebs were in a strong defensive position by the time the Union was ready to assault.
Continuing with our Longstreet 1863 battle, things went south quickly for the Union - a combination of having a Senior Commander killed while deploying his troops and poor artillery positioning.
We started game 4 of our neglected ACW Campaign today using the Longstreet rules - an escalating engagement set in 1863 (Gettysburg?). Jeb Stuart wasn’t away on his raid though, so looks like there’ll be some cavalry on cavalry action when we continue tomorrow. #wargaming
Cracking game of Midgard today - Fords of Isen scenario from Lard Annual 2024. My Elves holding the Fords (but using Rohan stats) being relieved by Rohan. A bad defeat with both Fords lost and Grimbold dead - a finely balanced scenario until you factor in my dice rolling! #midgard #spreadthelard
Coming along nicely Tom. My W German decals arrived today so I’ll be able to finish off most of the armour at the weekend. Just Leopard 2s & choppers to do after that.
Excellent
Ah right - I have some of their WW2 stuff. Looks to scale ok with the BF models as well. I’ll have a look - thanks.
Thanks Tom - quick question - the Soviet Recce BMPs that were in your recent AAR - did you convert them?
@tomjmegan.bsky.social & I seem to have the same New Year’s resolution - get some W Germans on the table for NorthAG. Though there’s no way I can compete with the industrial muscle of Egan Heavy Industries, I have completed some infantry & support - 40 Shades of Green indeed (even the rifle butts!)
Snap Tom - working on the same models myself this week.
Thanks Tom - yes - 15mm on a 6x4. Look forward to the PDF. Norman.
Epic report Tom and a great read. I’d certainly be interested in seeing the scenario details, though we play on a 6x4 table so would probably have to scale the forces down slightly.
Absolutely. With lower model count 7 Days was meant to be an interim game for us while I painted up enough models for a game of NorthAG. Unfortunately, I went off the deep end and painted enough for NorthAG in record time so 7 Days never got a look in. Maybe someday.
Lovely models. Yes, the AA rolls are always tense. I’m still dining out on the one time I shot down a Hind with a MANPAD. 😀
You can transport in Airborne as reinforcements (and I’m sure Warwick does in one of the AARs on his Blog) but it’s risky as they have to run the AA gauntlet to disembark. My British Paras are all in one Chinook so high risk/high reward - though they have yet to make an appearance in a game.
My worry with 7DTTRR (even though we want to give it a go) is the lack of Soviet tanks on the table using the points system. NorthAG encourages units of 10 Soviet tanks to economise on orders which seems closer to reality. I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve tried it of course.
Funnily enough, we were just saying today that we should try 7DTTRR after playing only NorthAG with the WW3 models so far. Transport helicopters in the basic scenario only appear as reinforcements and aren’t guaranteed. Attack helicopters are reinforcements but can appear randomly as well.
