I thought I was done with the nightmare irl project but I was not in fact done because 2026 hates me

I've been trying to get better at my lineart lately bc that's my current "style" I suppose but while I like how it looks I also feel a bit meh about it bc I feel like I end up loosing quite a bit of the initial energy of the sketch and it looks more stagnant and stiff even if aesthetically better

I think I did that split a long time ago bc I felt like my main blog was rather messy, at the time I regretted making my art blog a side blog bc it felt frivolous and people kept following my main anyway but eventually it did end up going the other way and it feels a lot cleaner now

I've been placing them flat on my desk for 15+ years and my work turns out fine, ymmv for everyone, whatever works best for you.

It might not seem like much, but for myself, just the fact that my shoulders aren't raised up while I draw helps tremendously.

Also, you know, adopt proper posture overall. Don't shrimp on the couch!

I've been getting a lot of questions re: chronic pain + art lately and I'm begging people to consider regular tablets over screen ones, and don't hunch over them. They take some getting used to but they allow for much better posture and reduced strain!
