The latter-day Chris Heisey I didn't know I needed in my life!

I like when the Reds go! The Reds are going! 9-0
Apparently when Tito said "I'm going to talk to Sal 7 times about stealing bases," it was to ask him to steal more. Or at least that is the story I choose to believe! #Reds
As if voters don't lack object permanence or have complex, messy, inscrutable, contradictory motivations, or just hear exactly what they want to hear. Totally agree with you.
This is monstrous. Just profoundly shameful behavior by our government.

I'm sure someone's made this joke already, but how did the AI tips on keeping 49ers healthy work
Sam Wang is running for office? I give him a 99% chance to win. Just kidding.
Not sure who's been worse this game, the home plate umpire or the Twins' manager
Between Caratini as cleanup & leaving Morris in so long, tbh not sure what the Twins skipper is doing today...besides keeping the Reds in this game
I definitely agree with you, but I think it's funny that if anything I might be more personally resilient about politics than sports losses. I'm still mad about the Colts losing that playoff game to the Steelers in 2005 after starting 13-0 while beating them in the regular season. Vanderjagt!
Also, Dynasty SF markets massively overrate benefits of youth at the QB position when it comes to valuations, b/c QB is a position that ages much differently than RB/WR. The market putting the same premium on age for QB is completely irrational & if you're a smart manager you're acting on it r n
Dart's *8th* in KTC at QB but there's half a dozen things that could wreck his value: his injury history, Nabers' injuries, potential defensive improvement limits volume, limited track record being fluky & somehow Hurts/T-Law/Nix are worth less, all of whom ALSO rush & are in better situations (2/2)
Jaxson Dart is my new "Kyler Murray Dynasty SF QB Fraudulent Value Award Winner." I'd been feeling Kyler was massively overpriced for 2-3 years before last season's meltdown. "But Dart has so much RUSHING value?" On the team that's prob about to draft an elite RB to take his carries away? (1/2)
Some days she goes, some days she doesn't. Way she goes.
I'm glad Platner apologized for using a slur against people with disabilities. I still don't particularly trust him, I still question if he's truly done the work to change as a person & is just mouthing words that sound good, and I'd still like to see a lot more from him in terms of making good.

Don't like Pagan maybe being injured...fingers crossed it's nothing major.
I like Brady Singer, but I definitely felt an element of "why did you completely melt down against the punchless 2025 Nationals the one time I'm going to watch this season and then inexplicably pitch like an All-Star for six weeks"
I went to see the Reds in person last year for the only time the entire season, and I saw Brady Singer get absolutely *demolished*. Reds were behind, IDK, 7-0 by the 2nd or 3rd inning? Hopeless. And he ran off an incredible streak of great starts *after* the one time I went to see the Reds last year
If the NYT wants to worry about their reputation getting worse, I think The Athletic is at the bottom of the list of those reasons. I'm worried about the NYT leading moral panics against trans people & caping for fascism, not whatever happens at The Athletic.
2006 Reds got me into the team. They had just added Arroyo, who pitched way better than usual b/c the NL hadn't adjusted to him. Just added Brandon Phillips, the first Red to play w/ edge since the 90s probably & Harang was nails. Still had The Kid & Adam Dunn. Lousy bullpen/nos. 3-5 starters.
Using the r-word is just bad. Democrats should have higher standards for themselves than Trump when it comes to using a slur that MANY disabled people find offensive. Looking at you, Graham Platner. New from me at @motherjones.com. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
I'm really glad Julia wrote about this, and I actually think Platner's use of the r-word is even *more* egregious when viewed in context of how this eugenicist administration is attacking the disabled. You can't claim to be a progressive and then use a harmful ableist slur!
