It’s comparatively rare that I’ve seen it happen for cars, and when it happens it’s a big deal that makes the news — I’ve never had one recalled myself. I suspect it’s even rarer for electrical appliances — ditto.

I rarely shop at Aldi, so can’t comment, but the fruit and veg at my local Lidls are excellent. Often better quality than Sainsbury’s.
