But once I make a full enough recovery, I’m gonna finish writing up that new TOS and get comms going again!

Not to glaze Japan, because of course it has its own set of problems, but you can’t beat the cleanliness and affordability of things. Not to mention the higher quality of food for much less intake. Even though it’s fast paced, it was fun to navigate through the subways and wander around.

I miss it.

Japan was really fun, but it really puts into perspective how much I HATE the states tho;

It’s so dirty, chaotically disorganized, inefficient, and things are stupidly expensive for no reason. Not to mention the food is literally poison.

Man, there’s something very deep about how growing up with all the constant noise and talking and magically whimsical soundtrack of the Eng dub as a child and then rewatching the movie as originally intended as an adult with all the quiet was just… genuinely an experience.

Watched Kiki’s Delivery Service at IMAX and the difference between the original 1989 JPN ver and the 1998 End dub I grew up with was WAY bigger than I’d imagined.

There was SO much silence - much less dialogue, much less music. Jiji is more cautious than cynical. The ending was different!

I feel a deep sorrow and love for the beautifully tragic series of events of Kokuho.

The makeup, wardrobe, casting, the traditional kabuki performances themselves - phenomenal. Loved the soundtrack.

A slow burn, but well paced enough to really digest the story and culture. Well worth the 3 hours.
