Happy Monday garden friends! We are finally having a typical rainy Bay Area spring, and the flowers are starting to really get going. I snipped these beauties this morning before the downpour. #gardensky

Ohhhh one thing I might add about the pesto is that I probably did a 2-1 ratio of parsley to dandelion leaves in mine and it was still quite tangy. If you do all dandelion leaves you'll want to keep that it mind because they are very strong.

Thanksssss I had a bit today drizzled over the top of beef skewers from Trader Joe's and it was divine. Gonna do
pasta and pizza with it later this week and then freeze some. It's a winner

Yes! I was gonna sautΓ© the leaves like Swiss Chard, but then I saw the pesto recipe and decided to make that instead. Since I had a lot of parsley to use that I cut last week it was perfect.

I don't usually make pesto but this parsley has been growing like crazy since last summer and someone suggested making pesto with it. Then I saw a few recipes for pesto with the dandelion leaves and decided to mix them.

Gotta use everything I can on this plot of land and learn all the things.

I also saved as much of the dandelion roots as I could and have them soaking to release the dirt. My plan is to dry them down and grind for dandelion tea and bottle some up into small bottles with vodka to make tinctures.

I really enjoyed it!

Hi garden friends! Today's garden experiment was to turn "weeds" into something edible. Not quite weeds actually but dandelions that I dug up from my front yard. I mixed them with my over abundance of parsley from my herb garden and a few peppers that I overwintered and made a tangy pesto. πŸ‘ŒπŸΎ

I started watching #TheTestaments and I dare say I like it even better than Handmaids Tale. πŸ€”

This season I am falling back in love...with my garden. Not that i ever fell out pf love with it. But last year I didn't do too much to it and let it rest. Ive been cleaning it up for the past month and it's just precious. I love it! πŸ˜†πŸ˜πŸ’š

Now I'm spending the rest of this Good Friday planting!

Well by longer I mean longer from the perspective of previous ones where it's a quick jolt.

Vinegar is pretty easy. I juice mine, add a bit of peel, one teaspoon of honey (sugar or molasses will work too), and cover jar with a breathable cloth and put in your pantry or someplace dark/warm. Let it sit.

Ohhhhh I also started a THIRD batch of ACV just because πŸ˜†πŸ˜©πŸ˜‚. I did have a few apples to use up that were going bad but I honestly just needed an excuse. Vinegar fermentation is fun!

Happy Sunday garden friends! It's been awhile since I have been on here but spring has sprung and I'm locked into the garden this year getting the plant beds ready.

Some quick snaps of my early rose blooms mixed in with some ranunculus from the farmers market... #gardensky

Ok now it's HELLA hot in Oakland!!! I'm not complaining though. I'm gonna take this heat over freezing temps every day, and this could be the precursor to a fantastic summer garden.

Happy Sunday garden friends! Spent some quality time doing cleanup in the backyard today. No planting yet other than a few new berry plants. Took a pic of a pretty rose bloom. All of my rose bushes have buds but putting out just one bloom here and there.

It's a gorgeous day in the Bay today! I did the bare minimum by cutting my backyard before getting out in these streets. But spring is definitely here!!!

Congrats! Pithead Chapel was one of the first places to take my work many years ago. It’s a great place to call home.
