Absolutely remarkable statement from Pope Leo today.

To whoever did this at the #NoKings in Boston: Thank you.❤️
It made me tear up. And we must to be reminded of needless damage to humanity that results directly from the careless, bellicose bluster coming from the Pentagon and White House.
Excellent letter by @j-hagen-zanker.bsky.social and @clairekumar.bsky.social on the @financialtimes.com arguing that making development aid conditional on migration objectives makes for inefficient migration policy and bad aid policy.

Totally illegal.
How does cinema shape how we think about migration?
In my new article I analyse 410 films, documentaries & TV series from 1940–2024 to explain how migration is represented on screen.

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.
Stay free
in case you're curious about how angry Minnesota is about ICE, it was -20 today
That’s absolutely crazy… and so sad !
Lady Liberty murdered by fascists
"Fuckin' bitch."
A new paper by George Borjas—who served this past year in the Trump White House designing some of its anti-immigration policies—claims to display evidence of ideological bias among researchers who study immigration.

A person walks in front of a historic stone building with an ornate facade, located on the campus of Yale University.
An image of a historic stone building with gothic architectural features, framed by autumn trees, likely located at Yale University.

One view, four seasons.
Here’s Berkeley College the way students see it all year long, through the lens of Gavin Susantio from Cross Campus. #Yale
Too bad they don’t believe in #ClimateChange or they would also blame #immigrants for it !
this defies parody. also helps explain why Sec Bessent bizarrely blamed immigrants when confronted with a question about high beef prices
Screenshot of a tweet by Aaron Reichlin-Melnick criticizing a government official’s claim that due process should be ignored in immigration enforcement. The tweet argues that due process applies to everyone and is enshrined twice in the U.S. Constitution. Below it is a quoted tweet referencing a statement attributed to Stephen Miller about deportations, alongside a video still of a man speaking at a podium outdoors.
My family and I, and the entire Japanese American community on the West Coast, were denied due process during our internment in WWII. It is a cherished, critical right for all people within the U.S.’s borders.
Pope Leo said in a Christmas Eve sermon that the story of Jesus being born in a stable because there was no room at an inn should remind Christians that refusing to help the poor and strangers today is tantamount to rejecting God himself. For @reuters.com
That’s what happens when you start a trade war !
This, and the way the US army is killing Venezuelan (and Colombian) fishermen (drug dealers according to them) against international laws (and without any demonstrated evidence).
And it’s probably a “coincidence” that most “refugees” entering the US now are white (Afrikaners).
I increasingly think that these people not only don’t care about it, but the death of people of color is probably a good news for them. They are white supremacists and they know what they are doing !
The US government is engaged in a policy program of mass exclusion.
It is not a ‘crackdown’—which means strict enforcement against lawbreakers.
It seeks to exclude refugees, students, and family members immigrating lawfully, and to exclude US citizens smeared as undesirable.
Not a ‘crackdown’.
Too bad they lost the most important series of the year against the #Yankees !!!
Tweet from the official account of the US Dept. of Homeland Security: “Remigrate”
Easy opportunity for any journalist speaking to any immigration official of the US government:
Ask, “Can you please define the term, ‘remigration’?”
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won tonight. It’s a reminder that when we come together around strong, forward-looking leaders who care about the issues that matter, we can win. We’ve still got plenty of work to do, but the future looks a little bit brighter.
The US Administration is preparing to issue a new rule restricting employment authorization for asylum-seekers.
It's unclear now exactly what form that will take. But @cbsnews.com reported in June that the new policy may indefinitely, categorically ban new work permits for all asylum seekers—>
It is now the policy of the United States government to invade any country on earth under the pretext of protecting Christians (but no other ethnic group).
It is the policy of the United States to “cherish” Christians (but members of no other faith).
So you should really watch this. Just 2 minutes. But a window into the truly radical nature of the people Trump is nominating.
When pressed today, the nominee to be Ambassador to South Africa refuses to oppose reinstituting laws to prevent black people from voting in America.
