A very well formed duck egg rests on the concrete in the middle of a patio.
There’s a mallard around here who is truly a strange duck. Among her odd behaviors: The time she tried to climb up & perch atop a steep roof, squawking loudly because her webbed feet kept sliding down.
Also, she sometimes lays an egg in an open place and leaves it. This year, I took a photo of one.
