Then my hope is that each word of condolence becomes an ember to warm you - not least during those 'shifts' that arrive unexpected. Good parents are a blessing, and carry you far even in their absence. Now your work is to carry her inside, in all the places you will be. I am sorry for your sorrow.

That is incredibly kind of you both. Thank you so much, Brian (?), Tim. A happy accident for me - outcome hugely appreciated. The book would be beautiful in its own right - given the inherent quality of 'The Bleeding Horse', and 'Some Thoughts on Horror'. Inscribed simply adds a layer to 'special'.

That you did.
There's nothing to offend here. Not much to see either. I'm not sure the attempt at elegance quite hit the mark - it could use a little spice. Still, 'clean and comfortable' is key.
Safe travels.

The sailing's all done once the ship returns to the forest. But the voyage is far from over.

To see a craftsman at work is always a joy.

And shifts with the enhanced depth of keener understanding, yes?
I know you can do this . . . whilst moving as the subject and your response to it - along with your chosen media - dictates. This would have been exceptional as a graphite rendering. The addition of colour adds its own magic.

Maps in a mirror refuse all limits, accept no confinement. Insight enables them to shift and shimmer from ever-changing perspective. An adventurous heart willing to examine, explore, and expose. Acceptance is key.
Achieving balance is perhaps a principal aim.
I believe you may be a magus, Yoann.

A wee bit late for this one, number 2, and number 3. But Whitewashed Tombs? We can do that.

That's very kind of you Kat. Thank you. ๐ŸŒผ

Thank you, Chad. That is really kind of you. Unfortunately I can not claim it as an original idea. It is rather my interpretation of a photograph seen in a magazine and kept from a number of decades ago.

Thank you, Kat. I should have mentioned long before now that I appreciated this first - and for a number of weeks *only* -comment enormously. Still learning . . . trying to find ways to feel comfortable in this scarily open space. ๐ŸŒฟ

My thanks, Chad. The glad part is mutual. Always looking for the light. Always delighted to find it. ๐ŸŒŸ

It's a gorgeous, well-timed capture, Chad. Yesterday afternoon's blue skies and cotton-wool clouds turned into a similar vision above the house for the evening. A favourite type of night sky. Sadly I was too lazy to stand in the cold with the camera. Sometimes simply 'seeing' satisfies well enough.

Sending flowers for a friend's birthday around the time her final farewell to a brother-in-law had been spoken I looked for something appropriate. An arrangement that included a pale alstroemeria stood out - the bloom's symbolic meaning seemed perfect. I knew nothing prior to finding that bouquet.

Symbolic of grace, purity, majesty and honour. Added to the gift of a bouquet they are thoughtful choice to express condolence at a time of stress and sorrow.
This particularly showy girl is a definite eye-catcher.

Hello, that's really kind of you. Thank you. I am still trying to find a way to occupy this space, learn its etiquette, decide how to use it . . . or not. The quiet corner is comfortable enough to remain in. ๐ŸŒฟ

I don't know where Waterhouse found those blues for Circe Invidiosa in 1892, but the jewel-like colours in the original oil-work are mesmerising. Here, spurned by Glaucus, jealousy sees her turn rival Scylla into a sea monster, though with regret. It's an interesting choice for The Children of Eve.

Mellow and easy on the ear. Another 'previously off my radar' recommendation hits the target, Greg - as have many earlier posts. Thank you for the introductions.

Oh, and thank you for the image ๐Ÿฉท's. Much appreciated.

Portrait format. Before cliffs at the coast on the near horizon, she kneels on the shore looking out to sea. Windblown hair. Diaphanous clothing. Calm water turns to foam in the foreground. The interest lay in capturing the texture of water on skin and the lower area of fabric.

Landscape format. Backlit by the rays of a morning sun a girl of the sea lies face down on the shore; head raised and expression wary of the onlooker's approach. The interest lay in portraying tangled wet hair draped across the features, along with the texture of sand grains adhering to damp skin.
