We fixed a bug that’s haunted our Rich Text editor for a long time, where editing a post that has special HTML or shortcodes would cause the whole thing to break. [...]

Hey what are you doing right now? Nothing? Great. Perfect time to start a blog.
Seven years old, most of the advice still fits great:

This is long overdue, but we're finally sending out reminder emails for 5-year Pro Members whose subscription has expired, or will be soon.
Renewing this long-term plan is always a manual process, so it's just a little reminder to go in and subscribe for another 5 years, for those who want it […]
Only a few more hours left to grab a deal on our 5-year Pro Membership (both new and existing subscribers) and our @writefreely.writing.exchange.ap.brid.gy iOS app!

You want integrated tweets? I'll do you one better - integrated tweets, audience and data portability, and a product not funded by the worst people you know: @leaflet.pub @pckt.blog @offprint.app @greengale.app @wordpress.org @write.as @ghost.org
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…don’t use Substack to host your newsletter.
An image of a Peruvian finger puppet next to a glass of cava on a train, overlaid with the following text: Night trains, olives, and Aperol: How I reached Córdoba without flying 36 hours, 9 trains, 1 magnificent mosque, and many olives later.
I wrote an experimental #Substack #travel post, but this links to the @write.as version.

If you need a writing space that doesn't disappear when AWS goes down, we're always here ☺️ (sorry, Substack)
All good! We don't actually have a hard limit on storage space right now, though that might change in the future. But here's a full answer on that: discuss.write.as/t/snap-as-sp...
Makes sense! Comments are taking some extra time. But just curious, where did you get the "1gb of storage" figure from?
Unfortunately no
Hi, this is an independent instance we don't control, so you'll want to get in touch with the admin if possible.
We've just released #WriteFreely v0.16, with a ton of improvements for the fediverse, including support for Likes, the Creator tag, and better look for your articles on microblogging platforms!
Read about all the new changes and grab the latest version on our blog: blog.writefreely.org/version-0-16
Everything is pretty much ready to go, code-wise on #WriteFreely v0.16! Now just updating the docs and this should be out this week.

Just found this today -- an @obsidian.md plugin to publish posts directly to Write.as! Works really nicely.

What kinds of things are you trying to customize? Might be able to help with the CSS -- people have done some pretty impressive things with it.
Hmm, we haven't put out a new version any time recently, so sounds like this is probably the iOS beta
More people should know that write.as exists.
You don't have to use substack, which is ran by nazis[1] and extorts personal data from your readers[2].

Lately I’ve been hearing from smart, capable friends who are quietly struggling — with layoffs, stalled careers, and rising pressure. There’s more hardship out there than we think. I wrote about it here: https://write.as/dankaufman/hardships-hiding-in-plain-sight

Ultimately, we face too much daily spam from non-paid users that make it hard for our small team (me, @baer.works) to do much of anything besides fight them off. So temporarily closing Free accounts is the easiest way to slow the tide a bit. I'm sure we'll open up Free accounts again in the future.
After that, you can always get a free account by asking an existing user for an invite.
Otherwise, you can support our independent publishing platform by subscribing to Pro! (write.as/pro)
And you can always join one of many independent #WriteFreely communities (writefreely.org/instances).
