The contrast between the potential devastation in Iran and Artemis exploration is striking.
On the one hand there is the threat of civilizational annihilation, driven by hubris and ego.
On the other is a perspective of shared humanity that inspires awe and humility.
I know what I choose.
This requires photo proof of you as a Cineplex cast member, along with your favourite movie on the name tag
1) Your photos are great!
2) I would be interested in east end photos (Greenwood Park tunnel!)
PS thanks for sharing these
We're two years away from having live onscreen Polymarket/Kalshi odds for the Oscars, aren't we?
My industry sources are telling me the stars are coming out to shine
The article would have been stronger, and more ethical, if the Atlantic had provided ongoing counselling to the journalist, as well as follow-up counselling.
When a betting app makes huge margins on a given type of bet, like same-game sports parlays, you are almost certainly not the special little boy who can beat them at their game.
If it provides a little thrill to watch a game with a parlay, ok, but do not see it as a means to pay bills. It won't.
Also very important to learn the framework of +EV/-EV.
The overwhelming majority of sports game betting lines are set *really well* and are not beatable in the long-term, especially for casual followers. That's -EV (expected value)
In a previous life I played lots of poker, and was pretty good at it and profitable.
Some important lessons from that experience that deserve coverage in this story:
Everyone who gambles, even as a minor hobby, should start by learning about proper bankroll management. Number one problem, by far
Lots to recommend in this story, as it offers a good look at common gambling pitfalls that are now really common when there's a casino in everyone's pocket, and policies and regulations can't keep up
It remains unexplained why a convention centre, which hosts indoor activities where people tend not to engage outdoors, ought to be on the water
Yesterday I showed my nephew, a 7-year-old who is pretty good at chess, the movie the Queen of Katwe, and look who shows up

The area where they are *increasing* points is with premium formats (IMAX etc...), highlighting how important it is to their bottom line
Following disappointing Q4 earnings and closing multiple theatres (one in Toronto and one in NB), Cineplex announces it is devaluing its Scene+ points.
On most items the same amount of money will now earn three points rather than five, a 40 per cent cut
I hope they're filming, because if Canada wins hockey gold while people are waiting in line for Nirvanna merch outside the Rivoli they'll get great footage
Randy heard I was interested in journalism when I was 14, and invited me to shadow him at the Star for a day.
I'm sure there's many stories like that of his kindness and generosity.
The Olympics are a good time to remember the late Randy Starkman, the Toronto Star amateur sports reporter who passed away too young at age 51 in 2012.
i missed out :(

The last screening at the Beaches Cinema
They don't know the timeline on the Harvey's yet but it will be around longer than the theatre -- chatted with an employee

Let it be noted this happened in Olivia Chow's Toronto
Farewell, sweet prince
I can faithfully report that at the last night of the Beaches Cinema, Harvey's next door is PACKED
If you are an elder millennial who can identify the different models of Toronto streetcars and the historic branding changes of Sankofa Square, then Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie is really the film for you (and me)
Fox Theatre with a younger-than-typical demo today for NTBTSTM, really good energy
