Morphine is the greatest band with no guitars. Just sax, bass and drums and all attitude.

Best band with no guitarist? Hands down: Morphine. Pun intended.

Under appreciated band. Baritone saxophone, two-string bass, and drums. Sandman also invented the tritar, which has two guitar strings and one bass string. Pretty cool stuff.

Morphine was an awesome band. I had tickets to see them in concert, and Mark Sandman passed away before I could see them live.

I played in a band in university that had a sax player. We were going for a sound we couldn't quite pin down somewhere between alt-rock, groove, and cool jazz. We were okay at what we did. Morphine did it better.

4. Morphine at some Chicago street fest either 1998 or 1999. I must've had something important going on because my buddies all went but I had to skip. Mark Sandman would pass shortly thereafter and so I never got a chance to see them live.
