Ha! I like CS Lewis’s SF trilogy where the main character travels from earth, has confusing encounters with extraterrestrials, and realizes with some embarrassment that only earthlings fell from grace at all…

Kind of a new genre. Deals with protagonists getting stuck in various RPG worlds where they get real skills and level up. Humorous and fast paced. I liked Dean Henegar’s Limitless Lands series. Dungeon Crawler Carl is very popular, as is The Wandering Inn. Mostly self pub and cheap on Amazon.

Just learned that in Isan, Thailand, Western foreigners are called “mangoes” and I can’t say I really mind that.

Whenever I see this come up, it reminds me of Twitter on Jan 6. There was the expected shock and outrage and a few jokes, and one little corner of LawyerTwitter going “Oh no you morons, stop incriminating yourselves!!!”

If you're ever told to be outraged about anything having to do with health insurance and the sole source of the outraged framing is the American Society of Anesthesiologists, just move on because you're being played like a fiddle by the major cause of out-of-network balance billing

I remember seeing Sweet at on a convention panel once, and there was a lot of talk about inspiration and what kinds of work artists like to do, but he was all "Nope, don't care what it is. You pay me, I'll paint it."

There are a lot of different theories! But Catholics always believed he was buried in Rome, and a mausoleum and bones that seem very plausible were accidentally discovered during construction under St. Peters around 1950.

I can't guess who is really buried in Lebanon.

Catholics believe St. Peter was martyred and buried in Rome, at St. Peter's, in what is now the Vatican. This is a Muslim site.

That said, nobody should be happy about it.

In a rare alignment, the First Sunday of Advent *is* the first of December, so the “Advent” calendars are actually accurate this year. One less thing for me to annoyed about.

Until next year.

If I heard this music without the video, I would never have guessed that the instrument looked like that.
