We are delivering longer opening hours and Sunday opening hours📖

The two Labour incumbents explained why things were difficult but highlighted those areas where they were able to bring improvements whereas the Lib Dem, WRP, SDP and Green candidates all appeared to want the moon on a stick and to do things no local councillor or council can do.

" one of the Greens was hiking in the Himalyas" So funny, but actually true. This is the reason for the no-show by the Green Party candidate for Chorlton Ward! 🙄🙄🙄

I really enjoyed tonights local election hustings in Chorlton. It's really important in a social media world to keep this kind of 'real life' interaction going. It's a pity I was the only Chorlton candidate who thinks that. A no show from all the other Chorlton candidates!"

We want to send a clear message to people that if you come to our city to spread hate and division- you are not welcome here, it is not the Manchester way. We don't want any disorder on our streets.

Thanks to the financial settlement from the Labour government for the first time in 14 years we have a budget surplus in Manchester. We've made a video about the work we’ve done over the last few years, and what we can do with this extra money. This only happens with Manchester Labour.

As we approach the first year of the reopening of Chorlton Library, there is some incredible data on the usage of the library over the last year. This is due to investment in our libraries and the work of dedicated MCC officers & library staff.

Manchester Labour is delivering longer opening hours in our libraries, including the re-introduction of Sunday opening in some of them for the first time for almost 15 years. This follows recent fantastic investment in Chorlton Library.
