front meadow under snow. birds have been coming to it every morning to eat the seed heads. I let some of the flowers get too high this summer but now I don’t regret it.

I love the native Carolina Rose and how consistently the flowers appear the first week of June in their neon pinkness #plantnative #nativeroses

garden mounds were going great this spring but have now been repurposed by this snapping turtle for egg laying. I need to replant the artichokes and rhubarb but I’m excited about turtle eggs!

hello little Spiderwort! my hill meadow gets covered by the very strong pushy natives — but I’m trying this year to identify and make space for the more subtle among us #oneacrerewild #killyourlawn

Today the Supreme Court cleared the way for the federal government to transfer thousands of acres of national forestland including a Native American sacred site, to Resolution Copper a mining company owned by Rio Tinto and BHP. The land holds deep spiritual significance for the Western Apache tribe.

I planted Yellow Honeysuckle with the Trumpet (Scarlet) Honeysuckle before I learned that just being labeled “native” didn’t make it native to my area. it doesn’t cause harm but when I add cuttings, I am just going to do Trumpet 🎺
