For macarons or monster pancakes? 😄 the chef needs to know!
Posts by Elodie Turquois
My MC’s magic is unfortunately powered by pastries, particularly rose-flavoured macarons, and there likely aren’t any around camp 😩. But she has some helpful friends, including a Golem that should flatten those monsters into pancakes quite easily.
Congratulations!!! Looking forward to seeing your book on shelves ❤️
Yes please, and thank you 🤣 only the finest will do 😂
Blame the adhd 😂 and they all feature feminism and academic trauma of some sort!
I was worried it was silly but what can I say? Chairs have my heart 😂
Thank you ☺️ just realised I forgot alt text and half the hashtags 😞.
We clearly both love our M- starting alliterations 🤣🙌
I’m Elodie and my most recent efforts include a Renaissance Venice gothic, a contemporary cosy-ish fantasy in Paris, and a speculative women’s fic about time-travelling antique chairs with a contemporary timeline and the other during the French Revolution. Popcorn is my writer’s snack!
Ahhh I’m so impressed you’re writing a play; it’s such a skill! I was a theatre kid through school and miss acting a lot. Your cosy fantasy sounds lovely as well!
Your novel sounds like so much fun and chaos and everything I like! Nice to meet you!
Hi Kyla, I absolutely love your title! Looking forward to knowing more about your book!
Very curious to know more about your novel, loved your fabulous poster with the amphora!
Oooh your premise is so intriguing!
This is so cool!! Darkly dreamy!
Hi campers! I’m team #CRPDirewolves and revising my second novel, Macarons and Monsters to prep for querying. It’s a darkly whimsical contemporary/urban adult fantasy with ND/queer rep, a bunch of magical creatures, and a generous pinch of academic satire. Here’s a little infographic for it.
Love the oak and holly king folklore so really excited to know more about your book!
Absolutely 🙌
A man is sitting at a desk, writing a book with a quill. He is not looking at the page. A godly book, illuminated, is also present in the copperplate print of 1716. The godly message of the flying book is in German and from the Bible: Im Anfang war das Wort Joh:1 v:1". A light beam from the holy book to the yet blank page can also be seen with the words inscribed: „Dein Wort ist ein Licht auf meinem Wege Ps. 119 v. 105“. So, basically, god is the textual inspiration of the author's work. It looks like he is waiting an artificial hallucination in 1716. The source: https://portraits.hab.de/werk/17512/mirador

A line image of Rodin's The Thinker (A naked man, seated on a rock, with his chin on his hand and deep in thought). Above it the title: The Argonaut's Son, a novel inspired by Sophocles' Ajax. Beneath is the log line: "In Ancient Greece, when one man's dream of family and brotherhood collides with another's quest for honour, can their bond survive the trauma of war?" It is rather cheekily given 5 stars and has recent competition successes listed in laurel wreathes. At the very bottom are the tags: "Father Compex", "Brothers in Arms", "Friends to Lovers", "Big Shields", "Bigger Egos".

Romantic comedy poster with a soft pink background. A pink-haired woman looks up with a playful smile at a dark-haired man, who looks down at her with a fond, slightly amused expression, arms crossed. Behind them are hand-drawn seed packets labelled “tomato.” Text at the top reads “Love is the ultimate plot twist,” with tropes listed: “grumpy x sunshine,” “enemies to lovers,” and “chef and influencer.” The bold title “A Patch of Trouble” appears across the centre. Smaller text describes a cancelled influencer and a furious Michelin chef forced to share a double-booked allotment plot. Bottom text reads “Coming to query trenches soon.”

A dark fantasy book poster showing a luminous yellow rose partially consumed by shadow, representing the battle between light and darkness. The title Born of Light, Cursed by Darkness spans the image, with the tagline “Magic lives in your color, when it fades, so do you.” Additional text highlights themes like found family, mental resilience, and a romance where he falls first. Behind the image: I took a picture of a single yellow rose, using my Iphone on the studio setting. I used my black snack container, lol, to prop the rose up. Snapped the picture and uplaoded it to add the text and elements :)
On Runyan, magic lives in color, & Darkness is draining it away. At Wychlith, an academy where losing in The Cage costs pieces of your soul, Rihalyn must uncover her power while being claimed by the tyrant's son, Kieran, whose Darkness may consume the Light she carries.
