Met with a publisher at GDC who assumed I was a solo dev. They kept interrupting during my pitch & asked “how many copies do you think you can sell?”

Not a solo dev. And I’m pretty sure it’s their job to sell copies😭

They wanted a “safe” bet to quadruple their investment. The Unicorn hunt is real

I’m also seeing a big swing towards investors seeking out promising solo developers in this time.

Even if you find your unicorn, the idea that a single person (who has probably never shipped a game before) is going to produce your product reliably and on time, by themselves, is a WILD concept.
