A picture of the transgender flag with the following text: March 31 - International Transgender Day of Visibility We are here, we will always be here, and nobody is going to change that.
March 31 (Today) is International Transgender Day of Visibility. It's important now more than ever that transgender people have allies they can rely on, especially with all the Anti-Trans legislation coming out. Did you know that Transgender people are a critical portion of the LGBTQ spectrum? Trans women, including Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, were at the forefront of the Stonewall Riots, which is credited as being the inspiration for pride parades today, and the reason why we celebrate LGBTQ pride in June. Johnson and Rivera also co-founded Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries (STAR House), one of the first shelters and organizations for homeless gay and trans youths. A list of culturally notable Transgender people can be found here, I encourage you to explore it, pick one that looks interesting, and learn about them: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_transgender_people #lgbtqia #lgbtqcommunity #transgenderdayofvisibility #transgenderawareness
