A black and tan dog is sniffing an "I voted in Alexandria" sticker
yo, virginia! get out and vote YES today!
and if you're in alexandria, vote for @sandymarks.bsky.social for city council!
A black bird is perched on a man's wrist and is peeking into a beer glass
Is that a crow or a grackle? There was a grackle that would sit with us on our porch and sometimes jump onto our laps. One time, it took a sip of our friend's beer!
i tried it! it tasted bad and made me feel worse!
turns out that, as a middle-aged man, attempting to eat taco bell the same way i did when i was 20 was a Bad Idea
A few years back, I saw the parent of one of my kid's soccer teammates drive from the direction of Commonwealth Ave down the bike trail along Four Mile Run to the field near Edison St (presumably driving across the bridge that was later closed because it was falling apart).
The most frustrating & disheartening aspect of life these days is that the shitty things shitty people do ... work. They're rewarded. Over & over again, we are collectively reinforcing the lesson: you can do this shit. Try it.
To take just one example: Elon buying Twitter. It worked.
This is where we took our kids, no complaints.
I hardly know him tbh
rip your ears
yeah, i wouldn't complain about that too much
i like sandin a lot, but i'd probably rather see both TVR and liljegren back than have sandin play his off side for a full season tbh. even better, they trade for an upgrade at RHD, but that's easier said than done.
i could see both liljegren and TVR coming back tbh, now that carlson is gone. big mac clearly isn't an everyday player.
given the logjam on the left side, i could see sandin (or marty?) floated as a trade chip for other assets.
it's settled then, jacob trouba basically killed the caps' season #caseclosed
he was extraordinarily bad this season
when did leno get hurt? that anaheim game felt like an inflection point to me but haven't really followed up on it...
ugh, probably. some of that will come with getting better players (or the young kids developing into stars), but the caps have been terrible in OT and they really miss oshie and kuzy in the gimmick. hate to focus on something that isn't really hockey, but it's clearly a reason the caps are out so
Caps will finish twelfth in the league, probably, but definitely won't make the playoffs. The league makes nearly no effort to provide equally difficult schedules for all teams and then the conf/division playoff structure makes it worse.
i can't help but note that ovi's lack of effectiveness on the PP (both the shooting % and the abysmal SHG against #) was a prominent issue. was it a fluke? he still scored 30+ goals, but
all of this tracks: the power play woes, lindgren's regression, their inability to come back when down a goal, leaving points on the table against the worst teams in the league...
this team probably should be in the playoffs but alas.
I can't forget Vancouver... That was brutal.
rip the caps
hockey is over, c u next yr
srsly wtf
ugh the caps season hinges on this shootout
thought blake had just extended the caps' season but alas
so it's down to the flyers or the caps
these fucking guys
konecny blew multiple chances on the PP there thank goodness
canes are caving
don't like that
flyers tie it up
