I was trying to capture a video of me activating the new hvac fans, which I'm considering adding to the game, and it's not really working yet it seems, but there's also someone faceplanting straight into a pile of dog poop right at the beginning of the video so I maybe it's worth sharing anyways...

Extreme Forklifting 3 is OUT NOW!

That's interesting, thanks!

WTF Yuri, thank you! <3
Feels so weird not getting that alert anymore. Like, did I not press play or what.

And yes, my habits are the worst, and the pace I learn new things at is slow, like maybe one or two new things per project and one project takes 2-5 months :'--)

Thanks again!

It's my current workflow: I have a Blender export file open in one tab at all times and when I run the game I get these alerts. I can just click anywhere to get rid of it, but it's always that one click more. It's the least of my worries, just wondered if there was a way to disable them. Thanks :--)

Not a bad idea, and a good opportunity to learn about editor plugins :--) Thanks!

Yea, the good old, and I'm not on GitHub anyways so you'll just have to put up with me asking about these on social media I guess.

Can I disable these alert popups in #Godot? I've closed something like 10000 of them by now :'--)

It only attaches to the cars at the moment :--)

The chain is just a physical skeleton with 6dof joints, very basic, but it works. Everything is physics-based, but the magnet actually grabs things with joints, not gravity.

Haha, yes, you can barely see the grass animated, and it was a stupid thing to work on :--)

I recorded the game in square format for the GIF. Here's how it currently looks like on a 16:9 display, which should let you see the fun and mess better!

It's really cool, obviously better suited for objects larger than 2 pixels, but yeah :--) Multimesh itself is also very nice, though setting it up could be made easier, I think.

Other new features worth mentioning: the CRT display shows static noise for a while if you hit the crane's camera with the magnet, and the pedestrians can fart jump over small obstacles.

See those tiny little grass patches on the divider? I made it so that every blade of grass is animated, using this tutorial: docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/tu... and it's probably the stupidest thing I've spent time working on this week.

The Pirkkalans might now spawn in their underwear and I think that's all I've got to show for #ScreenshotSaturday this time.

Yes, even without AI, there's programmers, and there's us, non-programmers, who still write code to make stuff happen. The same applies to most things in solo gamedev, if you're not a pro in every field. Still getting labeled as a programmer if you're making your own games is for sure most common.

Nostalgia is the best. I just recently turned 40, and the best part of it has been that I've been more and more into the cool things we had in the '90s. It's a perfect motivator too, trying to replicate some of that magic in what I do, instead of just getting annoyed by how bad things are today.

Yeah I get it, I remember it taking me days to beat the first boss. You could also just make it easier for the players to unlock the game modes, so there's more things to do in the game even if you suck at it, as more people will, using the virtual joysticks.

Perhaps do it for the $$$ if for nothing else - it was just months ago @adriaan.games posted about their newest game's success on the AppStore vs Steam. They did good UI changes, but it was still just a virtual joystick you had to use, and there's players who just don't mind.

I've been trying out new social media platforms in recent years, and of the ones I've tried, Mastodon has been the best overall. The biggest advantage I think Bsky has over Mastodon is that it feels less like a chatroom and more like a void I can just spam my gameplay GIFs into...

Fine examples of how few features you need in a game for it to be good :--)

A good talk about how it was to make silly physics-based video games 20+ years ago. Porrasturvat is one of the biggest influences on my solodev work.

I also need to redo the way the pedestrians walk, and I now have this very normal tool to debugging it...

๐Ÿ™ It does feel fun to play, and it's already very video game-y in its current state.

Ohh, I can set the damping of the rope joints greater than 16, which for some reason I thought was the max... Lot less elasticity in the rope now, and more control, though it might not look like it :--) I'm redoing the Pirkkalans' physics, too. You can already launch them in the air easier.

Posting on social media has become a part of my gamedev process, and I'm not sure if there's anything that could really replace it, but just for conversations, I'd like some other forum, too. I never got into using Discord and it doesn't really feel something worth getting into anymore, either.

I also feel that Bsky has a lot of potential to becoming the #1 feel-good social media service, to quit ๐Ÿ˜Œ
Leaving Mastodon didn't feel like much, even though I do miss some cool people from there.

My experience was totally different - cool, supporting open source enthusiasts all around. I only left it as it felt too much like hanging out in a chat room, on both the instances I was on (a gamedev one and a local, Finnish one). Then again, I filtered the crap out of my feed there, too.

I think I've been on Bsky now for almost as long as I was on Mastodon before switching over. What's good about Bsky is that it's a privately owned American for-profit corporation, that I don't trust. Makes it easy to limit the time I spend browsing this, still the people are nice and inspiring.
