Today.. has not been a good Dadding day. Our little girl has an ear infection, combined with tonsillitis, and is too young to understand that the medicine we are trying to give her is to help.
I'm not gonna lie, I feel utterly defeated in ways I never have before.

Rounding off the Easter bank holidays by rolling credits on Pokémon Fire Red finally, very nice. You definitely feel how basic Kanto is compared to the new games, but man, as this game never fails to make me feel good - it's like a game version of a cosy blanket next to a fireplace on a rainy day.
It appears that Shadow the Hedgehog is superimposed on the surface of the Earth as viewed from space in NASA's image from Artemis II. Rest easy, hero.

Late to the party on this, but SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance absolutely rules, this would have easily sat in my top 5 games of 2025 if I'd got around to playing it. The gameplay is smooth, addicting and challenging, and on top of that it is beautiful to look at - check it out if you missed it!
My sweet baby boy.
Yeah, okay, I couldn't resist this little goofball. I'm not seeing The Super Mario Galaxy Movie until next week, but my wife was good enough to call in to a cinema near her work and pick up this wonderful Yoshi popcorn bucket - the guy is massive and wonderfully detailed!
Picked up Final Fantasy VII Remake for the Switch 2 and it looks fantastic - I can't wait to replay this game and it's sequel. There have been some exceptionally good ports for this console so far.
(I'm pretty confident the answer is no, but then I guess it's up to us to kick up a fuss and not buy whatever ai slop they try and feed us)
Glad to see developers unified on this, DLSS 5 looks down right awful and the obsession with fidelity over art direction is actively harming the industry.
The question is, as the people unfortunately calling the shots, will the CEOs care what devs think?

I missed out on Venba when it came out, despite being interested in it after seeing it in a showcase, but I finally got to it - it's a short experience at around an hour long, but one that hugs at the heartstrings.

Nvidia's DLSS 5 Is a Slap in the Face to the Art of Video Game Design
Nvidia just revealed DLSS 5, its new AI graphics tech that uses generative systems to “enhance” video games with more photo-realistic effects, and immediately garnered pushback from fans slamming it as “AI-generated slop.”

...excuse me?
We are in the weirdest god damn timeline.
God I miss early 2000’s web design, the web was so much more visually varied back then.
Actually horrific, I was playing this with headphones when I started but I've already noped out of that, haha.
Pleasure to meet you, many thanks for the follow back!
Resident Evil Requiem looks disgustingly good visually, Capcoms environments and character models are actually insane.
I like Spencer generally, his interviews with Giant Bomb back in the day were excellent and he seems to be passionate about what he does, but it's pretty undeniable that Microsoft needs an incredibly ambitious shake up at this point - hopefully this does just that.

Bluepoint games remake of Demon Souls is still one of the best looking games on the PS5 despite being a launch title btw. Truly incredible work by that studio.
The mismanagement of Sonys studios should be studied as a cautionary tale - yet enough studio who had a GaaS game dumped on them and then rinsed out to dry when it didn't come together/the market turned.
What the actual fuck, Sony.
Just like that? Good lord..
It's coming up to 25 years later, and Lan Di still remains one of the coldest motherfuckers in all of videogames.
I pine for the conclusion to Shenmue more than almost anything.
£25 for God of War Sons of Sparta doesn't seem terrible to be fair, interested to see more gameplay and reviews before I take the plunge however.
TODAY?!
..okay the pixel art has me sitting up in my seat, I'm in for this.
(unpopular opinion I guess but I don't really care that much about pre-norse God of War)
