Growth curves (coloured solid lines) and measurements (coloured dots) for 5 randomly selected females with at least 9 captures in Wilsons Promontory National Park. The dashed black vertical line represents age at sexual maturity (3 years) and the dotted horizontal line indicates the size of each female at sexual maturity. 🧪 Kangaroos have indeterminate growth, although in ♀️ it slows to less than 1% after about age 8, and gets confused with measurement error. Leg length of 6 ♀️ caught 9-10 times yearly since aged 3. Long-term research pays off! From Forrester et al. besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....

Des rives du Saint-Laurent aux terres rurales : l’influence de l’environnement sur les familles en Nouvelle-France Vivre quelque part ou migrer ailleurs façonne nos parcours de vie, tout autant que ceux de notre famille. C’était ...

🌾 How early environments shaped lives in New France 🌍

Our research reveals how migrations & early life environments influenced women’s reproduction & child survival in 1640-1750 Quebec. Fascinating insights from history!

Early and adult life environmental effects on reproductive performance in preindustrial women Early life environments can have long-lasting effects on adult reproductive performance, but disentangling the influence of early and adult life environments on fitness is challenging, especially for ...

For my thesis, I focus on the early live environmental effects (journals.plos.org/plosone/arti...) the Lansing effect and the effect of short interbirth intervals. My thesis is really interdisciplinary, as it mixes ecology with demography and epidemiology.

This is me:

My name is Lidia, I'm doing my PhD at Université de Sherbrooke (Québec, Canada). I'm studying the preindustrial human population of Québec from an ecological perspective. Is a huge dataset built by the demographers of the PRDH program that can be used to study a number of topics.
