I think that if he goes, he won't be coming back. I wouldn't miss him, tbh.

Definitely agree on the SC. I think Oscar might’ve been able to hold on without it.

I struggle to feel any sympathy for Woody. Maybe he’s just not as good as he thinks he is! I like Kimi and I think he’s done a better job in the last couple.

Agree that Max’s only way in is if GR exits.

Japanese Grand Prix: Max Verstappen says he is considering his future as he is 'not enjoying' new regulations Four-time F1 world champion Max Verstappen tells BBC Sport he is considering his future in the sport.

“And now people can easily say, 'Yeah, well, you've won so many championships and races and now just because the car is not good you are complaining.' Maybe you can see it like that…”

I do. 👍🏻 #F1 www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formul...

No, it happened a couple of days ago. The date is on the article. 👍🏻

He was struggling with deployment, I think. And turn in. We’ll have to wait to see what they say about it all.

Back to back wins for Kimi and the championship lead! A win from pole doesn't tell the full story!!

Great to see Oscar back on the podium (and in a race!) in P2. Charles drove very nicely to take P3 ahead of Woody.

P6 for Lewis behind Lando. Seemed to have some car issues today... #F1 #JapaneseGP

Lewis Hamilton: Formula 1 now 'much more fun' in 2026 season Lewis Hamilton says the new Formula 1 this year is

I think Lewis has it spot on:

▪️Are the new regs perfect, particularly on the PU side? No.
▪️Are the cars themselves better? Yes.
▪️Is the racing better? Absolutely.

It’s also great to see the self confidence back! #F1 www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formul...

Max Verstappen expels journalist from Japan GP press conference Max Verstappen ejects a journalist from his news conference at the Japanese Grand Prix over a row that dates back to Abu Dhabi last year.

I'm sorry, but this is truly pathetic from Verstappen. What an absolute child. #F1 www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formul...

Really don’t like the suggestion that the RBR situation could be allowed to continue. No single entity should own multiple teams (or even have a stake in multiple teams). Full stop! RBR should be forced to sell one.

I think it's too early to say on the turbo. Could be, though. We'll see how they manage to optimise the PU.

Jonathan Wheatley officially leaves Audi, before replacing Adrian Newey at Aston Martin Audi has announced its team principal’s departure, with the Briton set to join Aston Martin in the same role

Cheatley out at Audi. Still supposed to be taking over at AM, with Newey standing down as TP.

So, the AM denials were worthless? 🤷🏻‍♂️ #F1 www.motorsport.com/f1/news/whea...

Well, AM are denying Newey is stepping down now. Who knows? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Adrian Newey to step down as Aston Martin F1 team principal Newey will focus exclusively on technical matters amid Aston Martin’s tough start to the 2026 F1 season; he’ll be replaced by a rival team’s boss

Yet another Aston Martin leadership change.

Seems that Newey is out as TP and the Cheatley is coming in from Audi. It's getting beyond farcical, tbh. #F1 www.motorsport.com/f1/news/adri...

Why Hamilton is 'back to his best' in F1 2026 The Ferrari driver was upbeat following his maiden podium with the Scuderia at Shanghai

Having an influence on the team and the car is a massive help, as is moving away from the GE tanks.

The killer line for me was "obviously new engineer, and that’s obviously been a real good boost as well". Yeah, I'm sure it has! #F1

Epic racing in Chinese GP was boosted by F1's new button After artificial-looking overtaking in Melbourne, the 2026 Chinese Grand Prix saw a return to F1 drivers following closely and then out-braking each other. Mark Hughes on the Shanghai spectacle

This is a good read. It give lie to the criticism of cars just boosting past others.

Yes, there are issues with the new PUs. But the cars overall, and the racing spectacle, are a vast improvement on the GE tanks and DRS trains, imho. #F1 www.motorsportmagazine.com/articles/sin...

Yeah, but you saw today that they can still keep faster cars behind them, at least for a while. It’s just that the Merc advantage is significant right now. Remember how Max used to blast past people with the massive DRS advantage they had? There was no defending against that either. 🤷🏻‍♂️

1 week ago 2 0 1 0

The defence is different. It’s being smart and using your battery tactically. This is the purity point. It’s not that type of racing

Ideally I’d want the PUs to be designed so that they’re not decelerating on straights and they don’t have to worry so much about harvesting so they could push more.

1 week ago 1 0 0 0

Definitely agree with you that the chassis/aero is much better. I don’t think they’ve got the PUs right, but I think the spectacle is good, as is the racing. Nothing wrong with boost, imho. I think it’s tactical racing and far better than cruising past with DRS or DRS trains.

You have zero idea what I would say and what I wouldn't say in your hypothetical. Just consider for a second that other people might not be as shallow as you appear to be.

But, again, no engagement on the substance. No surprise.

I love it when people can’t engage on the substance. 😏

The ones who aren’t competitive

It’s just a different type of racing. Less pure, but more tactical and strategic and it’s producing closer, more sustained, battles. The cars, PUs aside, are much better.

Max wouldn’t be whinging about it so much if he had a better car. If #F1 isn’t for him, he knows where the door is…

Excellent job by Kimi Antonelli! It's great to see him take a well deserved first #F1 win. It's good to see that Woody won't have everything his own way this year.

Absolutely brilliant to see Lewis back on the podium, too! Excellent drive from him. The first podium in red is special! #ChineseGP
