I like this being codified into rules. I do this already, but its nice to know it's being considered.

Yeah, I think just saying "Hey this meta knowledge, your characters don't know it" is usually just a good reminder on principle alone.

As a GM, how do you feel about doing teasing scenes that the players aren't there for?

Usually to build tension either towards the end or in strategic moments, something I'll showcase a secret conversation between NPCs or showing the end of a combat that players aren't there for.
