The reason for that was because the #Nation and #People of #Scotland had been repulsed by #Conservatism by #Thatcher and her ilk.
And frankly it was the only way the #SNP could eventually win. And they did. The SNP under #NicolaSturgeon tacked firmly #CentreLeft and won.
They had nothing that didn't belong to other parties. Nothing to attact any section of society beyond the tiny tiny proportion of #independence supporting #Tories that #Scotland has.
The SNP under Salmond moved away from their Conservative roots and embraced a more #Progressive outlook.
