I qualified as an EP in 2010. Since then year by year preventative council services have been cut further and further back.
As well as austerity causing misery and hardship for families, rather than saving money, costs have spiralled.
Waiting until crisis point to intervene is costly and immoral

It was a brilliant session, thanks so much for organising this for us Max 😊
Congratulations! 💕
I love this too! I’ve used it with my own kids as well as trying to support schools to reframe so-called behavioural difficulties. Have you come across any UK settings who apply this across the whole school? I feel it needs school leaders on board and would love to see the results when this happens
Interesting thread in the light of ‘school readiness’ articles today. Can any of my followers shed light on Kindred Squared?
So sorry to hear this and wanted to echo the advice to contact the AEP (who may well signpost you to the DfE). The FAQs page refers to three month absence so I would hope 1 month absence could be managed www.aep.org.uk/EPFT#absence

#edpsychs, particularly independents, may find this podcast interesting. It’s given me reassurance, loads to think about and as a bonus has introduced me to the word ‘enshittification’ which I love!!
Also agree with Tim about the act of writing being part of the process
Also concerns around the quality of AI decreasing over time and our us doing the tech companies’ work for them whilst putting EPs out of jobs. I’m listening to a fab podcast which touches on this, will link to it below
AI makes me feel like a bit of a dinosaur at the moment! I can’t get my head around the implications around data protection and transparency eg ‘this report was written with the assistance of ChatGPT’ etc

6/ Incredibly, over the last few years around £200,000 has been raised for homeless charities as a result of this thing. So, this year, if you're enjoying the pix, you could fling a few quid to Centrepoint via this link: gofund.me/637d21d0

Have you seen this @maxpurpose.bsky.social
Thanks for your help Dan
Thanks Pippa
Thank you
We’re almost there #edpsychs! Can anyone recommend a podcast or reading around psychologists working in #PRUsAP or SEMH settings?
Thanks to you and Aljcia for co-ordinating Max, lots to think about
So helpful and generous of you to share - thank you!
Love this - and imagining other #edpsychs also pondering cultural fairness when doing their daily NYT puzzle!

Haha! Worth reaching out to them. I think they draw on Dawson and Guare’s work - the Smart but Scattered website could be worth a look for links to papers etc?
