My heart absolutely aches seeing this stuff, I wish there wasn't this universal constant that every time funding slows for an agency that horrible things are done to the ones who built the company. Heart goes out to everyone affected by the Vshojo stuff.

*128 not 255

Their conclusion represents dangerous misinformation.
I strongly recommend consulting proper database engineers rather than relying on "vibe coders" who clearly don't understand integer overflow fundamentals.

The difference is purely in interpretation, with the first bit determining positive/negative status in signed integers.
The DOGE team appears to lack fundamental database architecture knowledge. This isn't fraud - it's an expected behavior when legacy systems encounter data outside their design.

At an estimated $200 monthly in the mid-1990s ($2,400 annually)
Total lifetime collection: approximately $41,000

The math aligns perfectly:
$2,400/year × 17.1 years ≈ $41,000
For technical context: in binary, 255 (unsigned) and -128 (signed) are both represented as 1111 1111.

When a person's recorded age exceeds 127, it "wraps around" to -128 due to binary limitations.
This means:

The individual was actually born 255 years ago (not currently alive!)
They would have collected benefits from age 65 until death (around age 82)
This represents roughly 17 years of benefits

The case in question involves a recipient showing as "-128 years old" in the system. This isn't fraud - it's a classic signed integer overflow. Let me explain the technical reality:
The SSA almost certainly uses signed integers for age storage. With 8-bit signed integers, the range is -128 to 127.

DOGE analysts have released conclusions about potential Social Security fraud that demonstrate a fundamental misunderstanding of database architecture and integer overflow.

Absolutely it destroys your problem solving, remember when boomers had to remember massive times tables and our smart calculators decimated that skill? That x100

We call upon our elected representatives to stand with us and to insist upon adherence to the rule of law and the legal processes and procedures that ensure orderly change. The administration cannot choose which law it will follow or ignore. These are not partisan or political issues. These are rule of law and process issues. We cannot afford to remain silent. We must stand up for the values we hold dear. The ABA will do its part and act to protect the rule of law.

We urge every attorney to join us and insist that our government, a government of the people, follow the law. It is part of the oath we took when we became lawyers. Whatever your political party or your views, change must be made in the right way. Americans expect no less.

The American Bar Association has just called upon every attorney, regardless of their political views, to join them & stand up for the rule of law & at minimum insist that our government "follow the law."

Every lawyer has an ethical responsibility to do so.

Absolutely make him as accountable as the average Americans, money shouldn't talk especially when it's dirtier than septic sludge.

It wild to me that DOGE would actually send “contracts” with shoddy and suspect legal language to federal career attorneys that even non-lawyers would recognize as bullshit.

Weird that we have to say this, but the government doesn’t get to decide what gender a person is.
