Braid: Is the UCP still a pro-Canada party? They might take a vote on it calgaryherald.com/opinion/colu...

Ignoring for a moment the feasibility of actually separating, I genuinely don’t understand the 18% who think there’s a version of this where they leave Canada and don’t become Puerto Rico North about five minutes later. It's a truly impressive amount of delusion.

Do you mean "public school principal"? Bc that's what I am.
I have lots of issues with homeschooling, but your statements are overblown & obviously I fell for the bait in replying.

Rust Suspended: Shows DOPS Inconsistency - Hockey HotStove Bryan Rust was recently suspended three games for his high hit on Brock Boeser. Is it in line with the standard the Department of Player Saftey has set forth?

Perhaps some hockey journalists could make the very obvious and out in the open connection that the Florida Panthers are getting preferential treatment from DOPS because Colin Campbell still has a high up position in NHL and his son is assistant GM for the Panthers

Bryan Rust deserved a suspension for what he did in a competent hockey league.

He did not deserve one in the NHL and that is because the NHL's Department of Player Safety is corrupt and biased with no consistency. Their standard is fake and random

My thoughts:

"He'd never turn on us," the useful Canadians say of a man who is willing to murder his own citizens in broad daylight.

Make the best law possible (input from all parties), then implement it. Figure out what needs to be tweaked after. Too many kids are stuck in the SM loop & we owe them their childhood.

I've heard versions of that too, but I don't have any direct recollection of it. Something else to add to his track record of weird career

Yeah, AI is more imaginative with facts than my students.
I reread history in the NHL and I'm not sure a guy had worse luck in his career than many I've seen. To finish 4 games shy of 1000 is an achievement & grindingly frustating for all the unnecessary time missed.

The Oilers have been out performing mediocre goal tending for years. It would be good if they didn't have to again, but I think they can survive this stretch with what is at hand. Just my 2 cents.

The Alberta government promised to pay for 3,000 more teachers. Some educators say the promise is deceptive | CBC News When the Alberta government legislated a swift end to October’s provincial teachers’ strike, it pledged to pay for 3,000 more teaching positions during the next three school years. But what wasn't mad...

The Alberta government says it will pay for 3,000 more teachers over three years to ease a classroom crunch.

But the money didn't come as a result of the strike. It was already in last spring's budget before the Alberta teachers' walked off the job. #AbLeg #AbEd

wait until you see what happens after the 3rd vote

Thank you. It was a frustration that the ATA let that drop as the strike proceeded. It's a pretty simple measure to show progress.

One thing I haven't been able to discern or hear from anyone is whether after all of this the per student education $ will increase over what was projected in the 2025 budget. Or even whether that is being explored as a way to reduce class complexity.

Alejandro Kirk takes a hack for the fences. He looks beautiful

Alejandro Kirk takes a hack for the fences. He looks beautiful

I know a lot of people talk about "Ken Griffey's swing", "John Olerud's swing" but for my money there is nothing more beautiful than Alejandro Kirk:

- 5'7 and built like a Welsh corgi
- basically drops halfway into a splits on each swing
- each swing is a Street Fighter "Shooooryuken" uppercut

New poll suggests bulk of public back Alberta teachers in contract dispute | CBC News A new Angus Reid Institute poll suggests locked-out teachers have more public support than the Alberta government as a contract dispute cancels classes for a second week.

This is the first publicly released polling on Alberta education issues from a professional pollster in a while, and the results are super interesting.

ARI poll suggests contract dispute support for teachers: 58%
Support for AB govt: 21 %
Neither: 18 % #AbLeg #AbEd

Did they just hand wave away the mandatory 10 game suspension for going back on the ice after being ejected? I didn't hear anyone say anything about that.

This is a great post and I have to admit that the Oilogosphere was the most influential NHL blog community of them all. So many influential people and ideas as summarized in this thread.

This is the most valuable part of this whole activity. And I say this as a huge fan of ice cream & new experiences.

Why carmakers need to bring back buttons Asian companies lead a reversal from touchscreen-dominated dashboards

“A study by the Transport Research Laboratory found that using in-car touchscreens can impair driver reaction times more than being over the legal alcohol limit.”

Asian automakers are leading the charge to bring back physical buttons in cars, and new EU rules will accelerate the trend.
