Been on mind to - I will :)
Although some practitioner voices are represented (primarily through the involvement of subject leads from multi-academy trusts), there is relatively little input from subject associations or researchers with expertise in areas such as emergent writing, spelling development, and the role of talk.
Exclusive: DfE’s new Writing Framework will “bore the pants off children,” says literacy expert whom it namechecked.

Prof Debra Myhill, cited as someone contacted in writing of the document, says it is “appalling”.
Re-reading DfE's seemingly ever-more-controversial Writing Framework. Includes this unfootnoted statement: "Because children learn to read more quickly than they learn to spell, it is important that their reading must not be held back by whether they can spell accurately" What?
2nd national handwriting association! I joined this year and wish I had earlier :)
Ah thank you! I've spent the last two days writing about emergent writing and revisiting the rubric. I used it with graduate students and it's being used in research at the moment as well.
Spent time getting annoyed again at a lot of the statements but the writing was cathartic :)
I was talking about the great work my colleagues in Norway did on the norm project. They collected samples of writing to see what children could do... then set standards www.hf.uio.no/iln/english/...
Thank you @damsoned.bsky.social ! I think this is the one -

I contributed to @ioe.bsky.social #thankateacherday today. I thanked my PhD supervisor for teaching me to take a leap without knowing the answer.... giving up everything to travel to the US to do a PhD... and teaching me how to be a researcher

📖 Educators had clear insights into supporting students post-pandemic, but their expertise was often overlooked, argue @alicebradbury.bsky.social, Gemma Moss, and @sineadh.bsky.social. Read more:

1/ "I started my career as an early years teacher in inner city Dublin working with young children in their first year of school. Learning how to teach these children to read and write was challenging but the challenge pushed me to learn more, and ultimately, follow a path into research..."
