We just made a new upstream registry release; a bunch of fixes and speed improvements, but most importantly, this fixes 2 HIGH-sev CVEs. If you run registry proxy and/or use Redis for caching, you must upgrade!

Last night, we cut the v3 release of registry (aka distribution); this is the first major stable release in [I lost the track how many] years. It's the culmination of years of effort by the container community and maintainers. Test it and report issues

PSA:
If you are responsible for performance of Postgres DBs, check out POWA.
It analyzes your workload, visualizes, provides insights and even suggests indexes that optimize the workload as a whole.

If you are running any of the v3 releases of registry I strongly recommend upgrading to the latest RC3 releases that fixes a high-severity security issue. Official image shall be relased soon!

That’s pretty much it only it’s not really a strtup per se (a trading company had some “spare GPUs” - also not entirely true 🙃) and the bigger problem is that “startup” is Chinese, which is apparently bad for American businesses (regardless of the OSS nature of it) or rather stock market 😅
Potato potahto 🙃
Still my favourite vim meme
Lenovo's morphing into MBP has successfully completed!
You can use all the AI tooling you want, but if it don't know how to break a problem down into discrete units of functionality that can be assigned, coded, and tested, I'm not sure it matters.
In fact, it might make things worse.
That reminds me of that Friends episode when Ross was so nervous before giving his first NYU lecture that he put on a fake English accent

From my experience, it goes deeper than "the ability to innovate". Once a project is donated to some foundation it invites people from "participating" orgs who do [mostly] nothing. The donating org/ppl get useless clout points, the project dies in a slow death. Checkmate adopters.
A lot of cool ship in this
I hacked on Anthropic's model context protocol in Go this past week because why not...probably my last Go project for a bit while. It's a wild PoC but seems to work ok in my experiments.

Bay of Islands up north. There is also Hot water beach if you have spare time - not far from Auckland. Waitomo Glowworm caves are fun - you'll have to abseil down to a cave. Tongariro crossing is a great hike (there is the famous Mount Doom which was an inspo for the ring drop in LOTR)
Nothing will ever beat this villainous look for me. Sheer perfection 😁
This has been on my read list for so long I think next year I will finally pull the trigger on it. Thanks for reminding me of it

Mario Draghi: "[Growth] has been well below what could have been achieved [due among other things to] restrictive fiscal policy. This depressed growth rate has in turn lowered innovation, which then further lowered the growth rate."

Looks very good bro 🤤
I think Europe is getting broke and governments are in a mild panic mode; havent curbed inflation, have no clue how to solve energy cost crisis and fighting a Russian dictator costs a lot of $$$. There is a reason why Netherlands decided to tax people *retroactively*; moar tax, no growth. Perfect!
Germany are an easy competition for any developed economy at the moment. Germany's economy is in a freefall, energy prices are skyrocketing and they have a general election next year after their govt collapsed last month and the outlook isn't looking good, either.
It’s the same with real estate companies.
Did a bit of hackage on Helix today 🫡
The fact that I have to explicitly spell out a type to #golang compiler in this very simple code will never stop driving me nuts. It should be clever enough to infer it from the context.
