The default spanning-tree pathcost method is short for the Cisco CML 2.8 IOS L2 image, which is 17.15.1.
The default pathcost method changed to long for Cisco 9300s with 17.5.x and Cisco 9500s with some 16.x version.
CML 2.8 has IOL 17.15.1 on the refplat.iso
Boo, it’ll be a couple of weeks before Cisco CML 2.8 is available.
