1. Boy, Amazon is in a heap of trouble. Evidence made public yesterday by California AG @agrobbonta.oag.ca.gov shows blatant price fixing. And there are so many examples. Here's Amazon scheming with a pet food supplier to get Chewy to raise its prices.

Browsing this company's website and the only way I can describe what I'm seeing is imagine a school shooter was a management consultant
The owners can't sell out if the workers are the owners, even if it's for profit. The problem with conventional non-profits is that they're typically run by the same sort of rich people who run for-profits. The real answer is worker control.
I think cooperative ownership is the real way forward personally. Look at 404 Media and Hell Gate for example
… when was Windows the best operating system? This is bait, right?
We've reached chief corporate bullshit when they're making a film hagiography of Milton Hershey, a vicious strike breaker who founded a whites-only orphans school Pennsylvania and made chocolate that tastes like vomit.
Who made you the boss of what’s GenX and what’s not?
GenX is 1965-1980, a majority were not born before 1970
You can’t fool me that’s not an X-Man that’s an X-Horse
The “Calvin’s dad explains two types” meme, inspired by a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon. Clockwise from top left: 1) Calvin’s dad walks into frame to find Calvin trying to operate a record player. The dad says: “There are only two industries left in America: gambling, and fraud.” 2) The dad shows where the record goes, and how to turn on the player, while Calvin watches. Dad says “Derivatives? Gambling. AI? Fraud. Video games? Gambling. Social media? Fraud.” Calvin says “yeah”. 3) With one hand open palm up, Calvin’s dad cheerfully explains to Calvin out of frame below him, “The stock market looks like gambling, but it’s actually fraud.” 4) In bed in a dark room, Calvin clutches at his pillow, eyes wide in existential terror. There is no text in the panel.
The wealthiest 1% own 50% of stocks and the top 10% own 87%, per Federal Reserve.
The bottom 50% of Americans owns only 1%, but we hear about the stock market constantly in media (even NPR and MS NOW). Seems like we could hear more about the opportunity costs of not providing universal health care.
In his 1967 work "The Society of the Spectacle", Guy Debord wrote of "[the] pseudoneed of maintaining the reign of the autonomous economy."
And here's an old David Pope cartoon.

I still get threats from men I wrote about a decade ago who are angry I covered federal lawsuits against them related to sexual assault allegations. To my personal email, to new work emails. I don’t think readers understand how difficult and laborious it is to get these stories published
You’re not the boss of me
It's just the thing is it really feels at this point he could literally nuke Tehran and the media would be like "Trump makes controversial move in Iran War but his base love it" or some shit
War crimes, war crimes everywhere
And yet he’s very openly a white nationalist
Adam does it better than anyone. But there is a prohibition against connecting the dots on Musk (and Trump).
Haney-Lopez always identified plausible deniability as a key to dog whistling. But the media has adopted the same sort of "color blind" obtuseness that the right used to kill civil rights.
What’s wild is people will get snitty if you point out there hasn’t been nearly enough pushback on this.
"Mass immigration is good, socially and economically; is the single most significant factor in America’s current position as the global locus of commerce and culture; we’ve been lucky to have it; and we should want more," writes @felipedlh.bsky.social. newrepublic.com/article/2080...
You misspelled abolition
Imagine if we had an economy that wasn't based entirely around gambling...
To be clear with how I feel about it. Anyone in the military who directs or carries out strikes on desalination plants should be in prison when this is over.
Yeah Gavin, I’m sure eager to have my children forced to pick up guns and go die in Iran, sounds great, def gonna sign up for that
This sack of doo doo is never gonna be president, holy cow
