Having had the misfortune of hearing him interviewed before, it is not a surprise to see that Matt Vickers really is a fucking imbecile #newsnight

Another example of Chris Grayling's disastrous tenure at the MoJ for any updates on your "How Westminster works" book @iandunt.bsky.social
This really is an absolutely essential read. Fascinating and depressing.
This link opens up to a special offer for the i paper btw - £1 for three months. Genuinely a very good offer for quality journalism behind the paywall inews.co.uk/opinion/unbe...

Podcast with James Marriott on how the collapse of mass literacy is taking us into a new dark age
It’s a mark of how completely normalised the corruption & depravity have become that we barely bat an eyelid at the thought of two *property developers*, one Trump’s nepo baby son-in-law, being sent to represent the USA in peace negotiations with Iran. Sometimes it all hits you afresh.
Keir Starmer is a decent man but a fucking awful politician. Labour needs a better leader
And how on earth is someone with no money or cards permitted to enter into the country? Even if he has friends or relatives here, London is not cheap. Am I wrong to smell more of a rat than be overwhelmed with sympathy?
The last then said he had no money at all with him, no £ and no cards. I asked him if he thought transport in the UK was free, or if he was expecting me to pay for him. He picked his bag up and walked off quite quickly? Question. Was I an arsehole? Should I have paid for him?
As we walked to the station he said he spoke French, and came from Algeria. So we chatted in French. At the station I asked the guy at the counter to sell him the cheapest ticket. Turns out he was 16 so adult fares apply...
So, I just arrived back at Stansted airport and a young guy asked if I could show how to get to Liverpool Street. His English wasn't great. He was speaking with his sister and he put her onto speak with me. I said I'd show him where the station was (not too difficult)....
I've always wanted to cycle along the #CanalDuMidi from the Atlantic to the Med. I finally managed a brief taster today, between Carcassonne and Trebes (and back). It was lovely
Rejoin is coming: Talk of the customs union and single market is a distraction. Only full membership offers a compelling vision of Britain's future

Wait, you let Morgan McSweeney give the PM strategic advice?!
The key thing to always remember about Sebastian Payne is that he is a complete bellend
Especially if you are in any creative sector where your work is stolen without compensation, eh?
Not to put a spanner in the works, but 1, 2 and 3 are profoundly shit, damaging and dangerous plans
New times, same old arguments. New post on my Brexit & Brexitism blog discussing the latest developments in the rapidly changing international order and how post-Brexit Britain is stuck in delusions of greatness and cries of Brexit betrayal: chrisgreybrexitblog.blogspot.com/2026/04/new-...
As a way to run a country, "just in time" seems really efficient until it's not. Companies, maybe, but a country, energy, fertilisers, I would say not. That's a significant reason why the UK is in deeper trouble than our European neighbours. Discuss....
We're doing this again...
Reform UK's energy prize winners, Wigan-based Raymond and June Dibble "are the very same couple who nominated Lee Moffitt to become the Wigan branch chair of Reform UK."
Moffitt appears in the publicity video posted by Farage of their miraculous win. Fancy that!

In absolutely chef’s kiss timing, Matthew Goodwin is due to speak at Orbán’s in-house propaganda group MCC *today*
Badloss strikes again.
In Budapest about 6 years ago I remember talking to a young waitress about Victor Orban. She called him a douchebag (showing a good knowledge of English vernacular). I hope she and her friends enjoyed last night's thumping rejection of the Orban autocracy
Choices, choices for #Orban
All the worst cunts in the world - from journalism to politics, the Kermlin to the White House - are suffering tonight.
Orban is not conceding because he's honourable. He's conceding because his defeat is so comprehensive even he can't pretend he won.
Trump, Putin, Farage… your boy took a hell of a beating.
Congratulations to the people of Hungary for showing that populist extremists can be defeated – even despite Donald Trump’s best efforts.
My Spring to do list

2. Negotiate end to Iran war
3. Reelect Viktor Orbán
Congratulations to J D Vance for his part in ensuring the resounding defeat of Victor Orban
