It’s a mark of how completely normalised the corruption & depravity have become that we barely bat an eyelid at the thought of two *property developers*, one Trump’s nepo baby son-in-law, being sent to represent the USA in peace negotiations with Iran. Sometimes it all hits you afresh.

And how on earth is someone with no money or cards permitted to enter into the country? Even if he has friends or relatives here, London is not cheap. Am I wrong to smell more of a rat than be overwhelmed with sympathy?

The last then said he had no money at all with him, no £ and no cards. I asked him if he thought transport in the UK was free, or if he was expecting me to pay for him. He picked his bag up and walked off quite quickly? Question. Was I an arsehole? Should I have paid for him?

So, I just arrived back at Stansted airport and a young guy asked if I could show how to get to Liverpool Street. His English wasn't great. He was speaking with his sister and he put her onto speak with me. I said I'd show him where the station was (not too difficult)....

As a way to run a country, "just in time" seems really efficient until it's not. Companies, maybe, but a country, energy, fertilisers, I would say not. That's a significant reason why the UK is in deeper trouble than our European neighbours. Discuss....

In Budapest about 6 years ago I remember talking to a young waitress about Victor Orban. She called him a douchebag (showing a good knowledge of English vernacular). I hope she and her friends enjoyed last night's thumping rejection of the Orban autocracy

Orban is not conceding because he's honourable. He's conceding because his defeat is so comprehensive even he can't pretend he won.
