But I think I was just trying to answer your question. It seems like capcom is not incentivized to change it because it doesn’t seem to be an overall problem nor does it seem to be too far from the norm in FGs or otherwise.

I know more people in Tampa FGC that play SF on pad than I do that play on stick / leverless and don’t have a problem with the controls at all and it certainly isn’t stopping them from winning or enjoying themselves.

Plenty of games use more than the 4 face buttons for the main controls of the game. Further plenty of fighting game do too as well not just capcom games.
