Anyway yesterday was the election and every year, I swear I'm not going to do it again and every election I'm there explaining to people how they go about voting.
At least this year I had a lot of help. On the downside, some of the help was high school students who just sat there.

Yesterday was Illinois' primary election and I'm an election judge - got up at 4am and worked until 9pm BUT the best thing about it was that I got to correct THREE gender markers on the voter registration of trans people and we were both so excited every time.
A blue background with a smiley emoji floating among clouds. It's bright and happy and says "Buy my books" and then "Because when a guy in them is raising a bunch of red flags for you, you'll find out you're totally right and he's terrible and he'll probably die horribly" with my website URL
It's not "nothing bad happens to the cats" but it's clearly time I find a new marketing angle and give my books a boost.
I am so tired. Temp dropped last night and the pain in my legs kept waking me up, finally got up at noon and ate something to ensure my painkillers didn’t wreck my stomach and I’m now on the couch under a heated blanket watching bodycam video of angry white ladies being arrested for DUI.

Ellis: "I see little reason for the use of force that the federal agents are currently using. Pointing guns, pulling out pepper spray, throwing tear gas, shooting pepperballs and using other less lethal munitions do not appear to be appropriate."

Hey look how safe it is just to the southwest of me. So, so safe. From. Uhhh. Abuelitas selling tamales, HVAC workers, guys painting houses, and people working at a car wash.
Living in Chicago is FUCKING SURREAL. We’ve been invaded.
Unfortunately the warnings were ”being cops” and “having tear gas”
Here's a neat trick they teach in authoritarianism school: If you purge the people who measure the effects of your policies (BLS, MMWR), you can just claim everything's great, and nobody can prove how much damage you're doing.

Always, I was part of OG Sentinel because old.
Whether it’s Fox News’s Brian Kilmeade advocating killing homeless people by “involuntary lethal injection” or MSNBC’s Matthew Dowd bringing up things that Charlie Kirk said, both networks have crossed the boundaries of decency.
