This is exactly right. It’s not a dilemma though. It’s a line in the sand that will at once once collapse what remains of the rule of law and regulatory infrastructure designed to protect the public.
I recently realized that I have been using the same white noise generator now for 26 years, almost every night. It's lasted longer than any other device in my possession. The only problem is that the plastic is breaking down and getting sticky ... but today, I fixed that! (1/3)
I was never a Marie Kondo hater - I loved her book and found it useful.
But when my dad got super sick WHILE I was moving and I realized how much my ability to juggle both was constrained because I owned so much shit... yeah she was right.
Gonna spend the next two years spamming every elected Dem about the concept of "damnatio memoriae." Chisel his name off every inscription. Build over the various Trump Towers like they're Nero's Golden House. Remove him from physical memory, not to forget but as a sign of disrespect to the man.
It's tied for first with this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZAq...
Breaking: HHS’s ban on gender-affirming care is struck down. Rarely have I read a ruling this sharply worded.
“This case is one of a long list of examples of how a leader’s wanton disregard for the rule of law causes very real harm to very real people.”

I do not want to create an account or open a subscription I just want to buy a thing and never hear from you again why is this so hard.
Photo I took of these wonderful people (the faces of whom I’ve blacked out) singing happy Birthday to their lovely old dog at a bar I was at tonight in Portland
I was at a dog-friendly bar in NW Portland tonight and a table behind me started singing Happy Birthday and then I realized it wasn’t for a person but a really old dog who was wearing a crown and he was old and fucking adorable and I love this city
I gotta write a newsletter piece about Darkroom but it’s my favorite restaurant now - and the people who work there are SO nice
France passed a law requiring solar panels on every parking lot with more than 80 spaces.
Equals 10 nuclear reactors
Reduces heat island, shades cars
The US -- 800 million parking spaces. Most of them are uncovered asphalt sitting in direct sunlight.
Why aren't we doing this?
I keep screaming from the rooftops that print news is the future and we better start figuring out what that looks like, and literally no one in the news industry believes me.

When @vidiot.bsky.social and I happened upon a Japanese whisky tasting at Tales once upon a time, oh yes, that was a good day.
The hardest thing I’ve done is deciding every day not to do the easiest thing. I refuse to become jaded. I will nurture beauty in and around me and others. I will help my neighbors. And become unstoppable.
This is extremely key: when sweeping away fascist regimes, act *immediately* with the momentum of democratic legitimacy to excise the accumulated illegitimate power structures.
Bunnies in a raft pull up next to a spaceship capsule, which has just splashed down and is floating in the open sea. Visible in the capsule, two bunnies wave at the ones in the boat.
Daily bunny no.3285 made it home safely
I don't know how to explain to the people who pop up when creatives complain about "AI" to say there are legit uses for it just how much they sound like someone saying "Well actually fire is used to make bread" when people are talking about an organized arson ring burning down their fucking houses
Part of the reason that the astronauts are taking things so slowly is that they are trained to do so. This is part of the procedure.
The rest of it is that none of them want to be the one who faints.
I'm struck by the number of modes of transit these astronauts will experience today.
1. Slicing through the Earth's atmosphere in a spaceship
2. An inflatable raft
3. A rope swing
4. Helicopter
5 Aircraft carrier
6. Airplane.
7. Van.

A good friend of mine works at NASA, and has spent the last TEN years of his life working on the Orion CPAS (Capsule Parachute Assembly System), testing it in the deserts of Arizona.
Ten years of design & testing. For this moment.
Science is so good, y'all.
Come for the story, stay for the photos of children being welcomed back with balloons and rainbow arches and hugging teachers they haven't seen since January.
what do we think, chat? should we give him our money??

After almost twenty years on the platform, EFF is logging off of X.
This isn’t a decision we made lightly, but it might be overdue. 🧵 (1/5)
