I'm glad that most everyone is finally realizing that AI doomerism (AI one day may kill us all and we must focus on that right now above all) is actually a pro AI narrative that benefits corporations by inflating the perceived potential of AI and distracting from its very real and current problems.

One thing I've noticed as I get older is that I allow more vibes into my belief system. I can be rational when it's necessary, but sometimes it's nice to kinda just believe ever so slightly in the direction of what feels good.

Exactly, the best course of action I think is to just hold everyone involved accountable so that there's collective incentive to keep this kind of thing from happening in the future.
Mistakes happen. Terrible updates get pushed to production and major gaps in quality control are identified. The situation is (somewhat) forgivable if it is quickly handled by Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics. Step 1 is to roll back the patch to put out the fire prior to any other course of action. 3/3
The fault appears to lie with Aspyr ,but I trust Crystal Dynamics to retain reasonable control of the IP and exert some authority should Aspyr choose not to take responsibility for this disaster themselves. 2/3

Resident Evil 9 is overrated. Don't get me wrong, it's great. I thoroughly enjoyed it. But this nonsense about best game highest rated ever and stuff? Nah. It's a typical resident evil experience.
The reason the "AI will kill us all" narrative is pushed by CEOs despite it seeming contrary to their interests is because it's an intangible problem that distracts from the immediate issues with AI, such as hallucination, intellectual property theft, AI induced psychosis, slop spamming, etc.

i think there was a lot of things they wanted to be things but then were not, like the change from dual pistols to bow/axes. i'd say the survivor pendant was the most successful of the attempts though. it's definitely INfamous if not universally loved haha

I think my favorite moment in sacred artifacts #2 is how Lara simply temporarily takes off the pendant when she notices it doesn't match with one of her outfits. Such an easy thing to do, but somehow as fans, we never consider this possibility. 😂
I think it's okay to love Shadow of the Tomb Raider and who/what Lara was by the end of that game while also admitting that it was an identity crisis for the franchise haha.
